Winters on a CP
Has anyone researched purchasing winters for their new CPs? I've asked my dealer to quote but that's probably the most expensive option.
I know the sun is blazing outside but in dark and wintery corners of Surry these are the issues that keep me awake at night.

It's a good question and better to get it sorted now rather then November.
I expect the fitment is as non-CP and an 18" wheel would probably be the standard. That is what he US guys seem to do.

As long as you don't have ceramics that is...
Will need 19's for those.

I believe some have picked up a set of new or newish standard M3 alloys off ebay for about a grand or so.

On my last car I just had the tyres swapped. it just seemed less hassle than buying a new set of wheels and storing them etc.
There are quite a few tyre places now that will store your tyres once your winters are fitted for free as it means likely return custom etc |

Although, not sure how much a set of 20" winters would cost! lol

Anyone got a favourite tyre? Michelin Pilot PA4 seems to be a good cold/wet weather option - not much deep snow around here, but plenty of cold and wet roads in the winter.
Be interested to hear everyone's recommendations.

Yeah as long as you use a decent garage to change the tyres, I'd just keep the same rims. I'm sure winter tyres on those 20" alloys are expensive, but the cost of them and fitting/balancing the wheels shouldn't be more than a set of 4 rims.
I'd imagine the wheel gap on the CP with 18s will make it look more civic than a civic M3 |

I ran Michelin Alpin A4 (I think) last few winters with the 330d and they were very good.

I got a set of OEM 18s for current car and shod them with pilot Alpin pa4s, not much snow last year but the pss don't like it just above freezing and damp. Very pleased with them and will use them again on the new comp pack.
Wheels and tyres expensive but have in the past got good secondhand prices so ownership cost not so bad and can swap them myself. Lessens chance of damage to Primary wheels either in frequent tyre changes or from winter salt and grit.

I got the OEM 18s package with the Conti winter tyres from BMW. Had them on the car last two winters and they have been good.
BMW did a free swap over and stored the summers/winters too.
