Resurfacing drilled rotors
Has anyone gotten their drilled rotors resurfaced? My fronts need replaced but the backs are still in good shape and instead of spending the $$ im thinking of just getting them resurfaced. One garage said he cant do it cuz their drilled and said their fine as is... they really arent bad so I might just leave them and stick new racing pads on them. The fronts will have new rotors tho.
Thanks in advance. |

Unless there is a problem with them- pulsing, grooves in the pad area, cracks, etc I just slap pads on and go. Drilled rotors are a PITA to find anyone to surface.

Rotor resurfacing
BMW rotors are not designed to be resurfaced, they are not thick enough to allow sufficient machining allowance. Either use them as they are or replace.
Reasons for this are balanced rotors, machining could throw off the balance, and design for light weight. |
