Exciting, no? This attribute is part of Porsche's new 7 speed MT and has been well received. Hopefully the BMW version will be just as good.

Haha, I saw this comment and had to agree, that is the way to go! Especially if you can find the car with all the options you want. M3 owners have great taste, shouldn't be too hard.

Full info and wallpapers should come sometime between next month and early January prior to the M3/M4 debuts at Detroit show.

We need some new information or pics. Need to see more of the interior, etc. I know the official reveal is NAIAS, but BMW needs to continue with the strip tease.

This is where we were extensively discussing what "1500 kg" really means right?
According to the latest Roundel article to get to this figure will require 6MT (M-DCT is heavier) AND will require CSiC brakes as well. Hate to say I told you so... I'm also still betting that it does not include driver. Hopefully the "80 kg ligher" comments (compared to E92 M3) is truly what BMW have said - for a similarly equipped car - meaning the M4 in that comparison would not have the CSiC brakes. So, with a driver, without CSiC brakes and with DCT that should put the car right at about 3600 lb (1500 + 75 (driver and cargo) + 20 (DCT) + 40 (brakes)).

As with the bore x stroke we have conflicts between the numbers given by BMW and the numbers reported by the press. E92 M3 Leergewicht DIN/EU is 1580kg/1655kg I.e exactly 80kg over 1500kg and as we know this does not include CSICs. |

The latest Roundel article mentions that to get to the 1500kg you need to order a base car with the CCB. |
