i received a call yesterday from a lady telling me that the dealerships would be notified by BMW about the retrofit for the pass through or you could take $750 and leave it the way it is

Can anyone who has had this issue resolved provide any useful information on how I can go about getting it fixed myself? Spoke with my CA yesterday and he was pretty clueless on the retrofit.

So it sounds like an easy $750 from BMW- I did not notice or consider that pass through, and I have no interest in it, but $750 sounds better than a kick in the ass
All one needs to do is complain to get the $750?

Light at the end of the tunnel.
The kind folks at BMWNA graciously set up a retrofit and all is swell. The crew at BMW Portland were challenged but did a great job. It's - well - like it's meant to be.

From the model year 2016 updates summary from BMW:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1140538 For M4 convertible it includes: "Through-loading system (465) is now standard on the BMW M4 Convertible."

I am still not sure I trust BMW-Regensburg to install the “Through loading system (465)” in ALL the 2016 M4 Convertibles that roll-out of Regensburg, based upon conflicting information presented at the following BMW PKoD web site:
http://www.bmwpkod.com/vehicles/M/2016/F83 In ‘black’ where it reads, “the following optional equipment is now standard for MY16:,” the “Through-loading system (465)” appears, but below this section it does not appear listed in ‘green.’ Only 3 of the 4 listed items in ‘black’ got re-listed in ‘green.’ Is this just someone’s typo? Does anyone have an ‘official’ BMW document which confirms the “Through loading system (465)” is now standard equipment on ALL 2016 M4 Convertibles? If so, please post. |

Thanks, stevexyz. I did notice that your link and the BMW PKoD web link I included differed in their descriptions.
Just yesterday, I received the below email reply from “BMW Genius” Representative (Nick R.): “-----Original Message----- From: bmwgenius@bmwusa.com [mailto:bmwgenius@bmwusa.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2015 1:15 PM To: Porter, Ed Subject: Your BMW Correspondence [1-4944593290] Hi Ed, Thank you for your patience while we researched your inquiry. The 2016 BMW M4 Convertible will have the split-fold-down rear seats with the through loading system as a standard option. We do not currently have written documentation of this feature to provide. The Build Your Own website is estimated to be update in early July and will reflect that this option is standard on the 2016 BMW M4 Convertible. For your convenience, BMW Genius Team members can also be reached via the BMW Genius Hotline Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Eastern Time, at 1-844-4GENIUS (443-6487). I hope this information is helpful. Thanks again for your inquiry. Nick R. BMW Genius Representative Make a BMW product expert your new co-pilot.” I just hope BMW-Regensburg is on the ‘same page’ as the BMW Genius Representative, Nick R. I am looking forward to seeing postings by you and other owners of the new 2016 M4 Convertibles that roll-out of Regensburg in late July or early August of this year. |
