If this is correct that M3 drive is the new Nürburgring Track record for a a M3 2014- model.

That is a Bridge-To-Gantry (BTG) lap. You need to add ~30 seconds for a full lap.

I was going to say something was fishy, because if you watched that video he did that 7:35 in traffic that slowed him down quite a bit AND he appeared to be driving the car at 8-to-9/10ths on many of the corners at that* This car had much more left in it... it looked like a full lap to me though...

Remember it is just BTG (not full course which is not done any more on track days) and IMO it looked like he was driving quite well. Smooth, using the entire track and looked like he knew the course very well.

BTG (which eliminates most of the straight cuts 30ish seconds off), Trofeo tires cuts off 10-20 seconds I'd guess, and the KW Clubsports probably help a bit too. Doubt if anyone in their right mind pushes 10/10ths at the ring on a tourist day, but looked like he was driving quite nicely. Those Trofeo tires are almost slicks, so you're not going to see a lot of drifting and sliding with them like PSS tires. Looked very legit to me. Here's a little more prepped E92 BTG lap doing 7:27 for comparison:

Car: 2015 F80
Track: New Hampshire Motor Speedway - Chicane/Chicane
Best Lap time: 1:18.58 (Racepak G2X)
Tires: Nitto NT-01 275/35 18 f/r
Brakes: Carbotech XP12 f/ XP10 r

Had a fun, but traction-limited, end of season event at NHMS. My NT-01s are pretty much done for, but I was able to get a couple decent laps in over the course of the weekend. My best times were on the morning of the second day, during the time trials I just couldn't get out of the :19s; there was just too much slip and not enough grip.

I did put the car onto the NASCAR tech inspection scales there. With about 10 gallons of gas, and the track wheels/tires, the car weighed in at 3557. That's lighter than my E92 M3 by about 70lbs.

I have a 6spd, steel brakes, leather, tech package, carbon roof. My E92 was similarly equipped.

Most likely this is the last track event with this car, I am dedicated to getting a new motor for my track car over the fall/winter, especially since getting this car prepped for the track could have bought me a motor for the other car

Chicane/Chicane any different than what's usually run for HPDE?

Hey, I'm glad it worked out for you! Did you do this hot lap later in the day? That's a very fast time! I was the white E92 M3 and with my friend in the red Corvette. My best was 2:09,10 (virtual 2:8,10) in the 1st HPDE3 session at noon and then they had this red flag drill in the 2nd and cancelled the rest of the session. I had to leave and had not enough time to further push it. See you next time!

Hey there! I did this in the earlier session. No passenger then. Running in HPDE4. Yeah was with you when we missed the session due to the Vette getting on fire Best in the 997S (R888 and Pagid Orange stock else) I could get was a 2:11. The M3/4 makes the 997S feel ancient, the chassis is "that" refined.

Had traffic in T1 so couldnt get a cleaner apex but car is good for 2:05 on RE71R.

I only run with COM so I can't say for sure, but I assume it's the same. There are 3 configs that non-NASCAR cars run (North Oval/South Chicane, Chicane/Chicane and South Oval/North Chicane) that I am aware of. I heard that North Oval is no longer used (we haven't run it in a couple of years). I think SCCA races with the South Oval config, and of course NASCAR runs Oval/Oval

Very nice clean line! Would you mind put that lap up as a 'challenge' in Harry's Laptimer so I can load and compare side by side with mine?
Thanks!

Car: 2015 F82
Track: EuroSpeedway Lausitz (Germany) ("public driving" layout: Grand-Prix-Strecke 4,5 km Automobilsport)
Best Lap Time: 2:09.27
Tires: Michelin Sport Cup 285/30R18 on stock 18x10 wheels (square)
Brakes: stock irons with RS29 pads and SRF fluid
Suspension: stock EDC
Other relevant mods: none (exhaust valve disconnect )

It was my 4th overall trackday and 1st with DTC fully off, so I was slowly pushing more and more to find my limits (and I did a couple of times, without major consequences). The car is noticeably faster with DTC off. There is definitely much more potential in the car itself. I need to work on my lines and my skills more. Also need to experiment more with tyre pressure (I ran around 2.2 bar / 32psi hot)
My time benchmark is a buddy in a 1M (slightly tuned and with Bilstein coilovers) who is running 2:01s.

I recorded a video but somehow messed up the mic and now there is no sound, so I will keep it to myself unless someone desperately wants to see it.

Thanks! Will ask Than (to ping you) since it was his data logger. I collected my own data and FYI not sure if this will help.

Sorry, that doesn't help. Just tell Than to go in Harry's Laptimer into 'Analysis'
then 'Lap List' then select your fastest lap and on the right upper menu you can
'Challenge' that lap with your name. Once done it will be visible to load in 'available challenges' for everybody under VIR challenges.
I really want to understand and learn where you made up those 2.5secs as on both straights your F M3 was not faster than my E92 M3, at least not on Saturday. I'm just curious
...and say hello to Than, enjoyed riding with you all.
Thanks!!

Car: 2015 M4
Track: Miller Motorsport Park
Date: 9-19-15
Best Lap: 3:32.48
Brakes: Cast iron with RS29 front and back
Suspension: Ground Control at 3 degrees negative and adaptive on sport plus
Tires: Hoosiers 285/30 front and 295/30 rear at 36 PSI hot

The full course is 23 turns and basically flat. This was a PCA event with a club race and HPDE sessions. I ran in the advanced HPDE group with many well driven Porsches and other makes. This was my first time here as it was with many others. My best time was 3:32.48 but fast times were probably around 3:20. The M4 was one of the fastest on the straights but not so fast in the turns. Another M4 that was modified quite a bit was turning 3:22 times. His second car at the track was a track prepared F458.

R6 in front and R7 in back. The R7 wasn't available in the 285 size when I bought. Do you have any idea what a good hot pressure would be? I started at 38 hot but was advised to drop down to the 32-34 hot range.
