Just did the fuse method to open the exhaust valves, much better alternative than unplugging the connectors IMO.
Do fuses 146/147 do nothing other than control the flaps? |

Guys, if you want control over the flaps, get the CG Precision VSC-2 Valve Controller for under $200. It has worked flawlessly for me. You can turn it on and off using your homelink buttons. The main reason I went with a controller was because with the valves open at cursing rpm, there is an obvious drone which gets really really annoying on the highway.
Here a video I made sometime back. You can hear the valves being controlled in the first 35 seconds of the video.

Turn accessories on only, motor off. Select sport or sport+ throttle. Press in throttle pedal. Your valves will now be open and you can go ahead and pull the fuses.

Another dumb question - where do you store the fuses after you remove them.
Is it important to remember which one was in 146 and 147? They are both marked with a "5".

Just did mine yesterday n cold start sounded amazing today! Blows my mind when people say the car is loud with flaps open, it makes me laugh. I'm coming from a straight piped GTR, so my loud n most people's loud are completely opposite spectrums.

Ok, this is weird? Just pulled fuses 146/7 to run open flaps and found that my cabin got quieter. Does this deactivate the artificial engine noise that is piped into the cabin as well? Sure sounds ( excuse the pun) like it. Even weirder is I have the standard radio, not the upgrade HK sound system. Can this be possible? Anyone have the same experience with the fuse pop out method?

I suspect in your case you locked them in the closed position, so yeah, now your car is more quiet than stock. It has nothing to do with active sound, which i personally highly recomment to get rid of. |

Do you know if pulling these fuses effects any other functions for the car? I think someone else posted it effected Park Assist but I don't have that option so I cannot verify that one. |

Jrc exhaust valve delete kit, for 40$ its much better than pulling fuses or leaving it unplugged to get gunk/debris on the contacts

As to ADS, my initial thinking was it was quieter after pulling fuses, I still hold to that, as after I reinstalled the fuses the cabin exhaust note became more pronounced in cabin. Yes it's weird and I've read nothing to explain or confirm it, I can only suggest others try pulling the fuses to see if they too hear a difference, especially if you have a MT. What I learned in the end was, it still sounds like a T6, so why mess with the flaps and piss off the neighbors so early in the mornings. Last edited by shortseller; 04-26-2016 at 04:28 PM.. |
