Just did the fuse method to open the exhaust valves, much better alternative than unplugging the connectors IMO.

Do fuses 146/147 do nothing other than control the flaps?

Guys, if you want control over the flaps, get the CG Precision VSC-2 Valve Controller for under $200. It has worked flawlessly for me. You can turn it on and off using your homelink buttons. The main reason I went with a controller was because with the valves open at cursing rpm, there is an obvious drone which gets really really annoying on the highway.

Here a video I made sometime back. You can hear the valves being controlled in the first 35 seconds of the video.

I've had it open for 3 weeks and I don't hear any droning. Maybe it's because I am hearing impaired? :

Where is the fuse box located?

Under the trunk liner, which can be simply lifted up and removed. Along with the fuse box there should be a pamphlet telling you which numbers the fuses are

Dumb question, when do you pull the fuses, during cold start?

Don't have the car yet so trying to figure out when flaps are open during idle?

Turn accessories on only, motor off. Select sport or sport+ throttle. Press in throttle pedal. Your valves will now be open and you can go ahead and pull the fuses.

Another dumb question - where do you store the fuses after you remove them.

Is it important to remember which one was in 146 and 147? They are both marked with a "5".

Just did mine yesterday n cold start sounded amazing today! Blows my mind when people say the car is loud with flaps open, it makes me laugh. I'm coming from a straight piped GTR, so my loud n most people's loud are completely opposite spectrums.

Ok, this is weird? Just pulled fuses 146/7 to run open flaps and found that my cabin got quieter. Does this deactivate the artificial engine noise that is piped into the cabin as well? Sure sounds ( excuse the pun) like it. Even weirder is I have the standard radio, not the upgrade HK sound system. Can this be possible? Anyone have the same experience with the fuse pop out method?

I've heard constant open valves on a DCT and the car definitely drones at highway/cruising speeds.

I'm curious if the 6MTs drone the same ?

Did you pull the fuses while the flaps were open? Cos thats the only way they will stay open.
I suspect in your case you locked them in the closed position, so yeah, now your car is more quiet than stock.
It has nothing to do with active sound, which i personally highly recomment to get rid of.

Flaps are open, actually heard them click open and visually inspected them after I pulled the fuses. Yeah I agree it's very strange my ASD seems less pronounced. I'm going to check them again today before my cold start to verify.

Do you know if pulling these fuses effects any other functions for the car? I think someone else posted it effected Park Assist but I don't have that option so I cannot verify that one.

Jrc exhaust valve delete kit, for 40$ its much better than pulling fuses or leaving it unplugged to get gunk/debris on the contacts

In what way is that better than pulling two fuses?

Pulling the fuses is free, it takes seconds to do, and seconds to reverse.

This interests me because I also do not have the HK audio. I know with HK you can unplug the ASD. I would love to know if there was a way for me to unplug ASD also to see if I like it that way.

Ended up plugging them back in. As I run eng mode in sport+ always, which run flaps pretty much open, the only real difference was on cold start ups, it's a bit louder. After warm up the difference was negligible. Oddly enough cabin drone didn't bother me though, might be because I'm equipped with a MT rather than a DCT which might be more susceptible to drone, don't know.

As to ADS, my initial thinking was it was quieter after pulling fuses, I still hold to that, as after I reinstalled the fuses the cabin exhaust note became more pronounced in cabin. Yes it's weird and I've read nothing to explain or confirm it, I can only suggest others try pulling the fuses to see if they too hear a difference, especially if you have a MT.

What I learned in the end was, it still sounds like a T6, so why mess with the flaps and piss off the neighbors so early in the mornings.
