New To Forum - Looking for Allocation for PCD in 2017
Good morning - I've spend the better part of two weeks reading this forum and drooling over having an M3 built the way I want. I've found a few dealers in FL that have similar models available now, but as I can't purchase until December (long story), that doesn't do me any good.
I'm looking at a PCD delivery in early 2017 (preferably before March 31st). Am I out of luck if I don't already have an allocation? I've called a few dealers in FL and SC and they all say "we just gave our last allocation away" - which sounds suspect to me, but maybe it's true. Should I keep calling and state that I want PCD in early 2017 and need an allocation, or should I just go with the first allocation I can find and take it from there? |

This is correct... If you're going the PCD route then the country is your oyster. Order from anywhere. Quite a neat benefit to maximize the best deal possible instead of relying on a local dealer.

Thank you so much - I was beginning to get more discouraged that everyone I've talked to already was laughing about the December allocation. "Well, we just gave that one away yesterday" type responses.

Awesome - now to try to figure out what an acceptable negotiation would be. The one I've seen in FL was around $77k, but I'm hopeful that if I PDC order I can knock some off of that for sure.

Your miles may vary, but to put it into perspective from my case: My build completed on 10/4, while scheduled to hit the shore on 10/28, the earliest Monday PCD delivery I could have scheduled was 12/2 (although my local dealer would have received it nearly a month prior). I do know that Monday's and Friday's are in scheduling demand, so doing a Tuesday through Thursday date may help you a bit, I didn't bother inquiring on those dates though. Regardless, it's not a quick process by any means but the PCD option at least gives you the option to source out from dealers all over the country. As far as negotiation, the PCD portion doesn't really factor in besides letting them know that you're shopping around. Look at the pricing guides on here to get an idea of what invoice pricing is and work your way from there.

additional question to the forum: is it too late already to try to find a european delivery in february 2017? let's say i found an allocation, and want ED - i've read some people say it can be 6 months, but i'm guessing it depends on the build date scheduled? if a local dealer has an allocation do they get in the queue right away or does bmw say "yeah you have an allocation, but there are no open build slots until june next year?" (extreme example i'm sure).

ok thanks - if you're planning on doing ED, you can order from any dealer correct? no reason to tie down to the "local" (here in FL my experience is they do not like to negotiate much)

Waiting on my 2017 M4 ZCP, returning to the fold after a few years when I had a E92. The dealership I worked with in IN had to make a trade with another dealership for the car that was already in production but as of today the car has been released from the VPC and is awaiting a carrier. Was unable to find out which carrier it was assigned to.
So my CA is telling me that its going to take 10 more days for the car to be delivered to the dealership, which seems a very long time. The car is currently in NJ. BMW genius was unable to give me a delivery date as of this morning but like everyone else the wait is killing me especially since the car is in NJ. Anyone have a similar experience or their CA telling them an unusual long delivery time? |

Mine is also on Tomar but cannot track it anymore. The last update was December 22. Do you have a link that can provide realtime tracking?
Thanks. |

You can sign up for a free trial account to get access to satellite tracking. Otherwise give it another few days and the ship will be back in range for tracking.

At the destination port
Hi,
My car has arrived at the destination port. I am able to track it thru "2wglobal.com". Does this site also show the information about going thru VPC,etc. or is there a different site to track that process? Thanks |

It does not, W2 only covers shipping and now that the car is off their ship it's no longer a concern of theirs. There's nothing to track your progress through VPC. You can try calling the CA or genius, however genius some times is very wrong and could one day tell you your car is on a transport to the dealer, and then the next day tell you it's still being processed.
