I think someone posted in here earlier that I came into the thread looking for validation on what I already preferred (which was the lighting). Thinking back on it, they were probably right. I have the lighting on my current car and would miss it if I didnt have it. I hear you when people say "you sit in the car, not in front of the lights" but for me, the lights were a practical issue while driving as well as the look. I am used to the whiter light and moving headlights of my car and didnt want to lose it.
In the end I broke my own rule and got both, hoping the look of the leather might be a resale value later on (probably not, and wont be selling anytime soon). If I did drop one, it would be leather. |

I have both and I have to say the leather is a way better option. I don't see what the big deal is with the LEDs. They are no better than the xenons I had on my last car. Not impressive in the least.

Well, seeing as I'm about to go "round two"... I did it last time, and I'm doing it again.

The LEDs are standard in the LCI, so for 2018 vehicles, the decision seems to have been made for you by BMW.
That said, for earlier models, I probably would have gone LED over full leather if I had to choose one. I really like the way the car looks with LEDs. I can live with a plastic dash as long as my seat are still leather. |
