It's not that bad. 991.1 GT3s are trading in / selling @ $30k-$40k below msrp (and many paid ADMs on top of msrp). Feel lucky you get to drive your car everyday!

$97,400... that's the base price of the M3CS. Very interesting!
EDIT: Just realized it's limited to 1,200 units WW and 550 in the US. I bet BMW ups that to 2,000 and 1,000 Last edited by hi_officer; 11-30-2017 at 11:15 AM.. |

BMW corp doesn't know how to go to market with cars. I know how it feels, bought a 2014 i8 and then they flooded the market.....at least I didn't pay a cent over sticker. Drive and enjoy, unless you wanted to flip it.....then it was a bad deal.

Interesting price.
I went on the configurator and the most expensive M3 I could build (without upgraded warranty/service plans) was $99,193. This include individual paint, interior, trim and all the little accessories. Too bad BMW doesn't follow Porsche's strategy with the 911 GTS model. Porsche basically include a bunch of stuff as standard, tweak the power and offer it for LESS than what you would build a la carte on a 911 C2S. BMW is clearly charging more for the same. |

Guys, I've been working as diligently as I can to land one of these gems. I say gems as I have my own personal opinions about the model. With the release of the M3 CS base price, I can't help but think all things being equal that a GTS would be a decent buy at circa 100K. With that being said, I'm holding on to my Giulia quad as it truly is a terrific car in all respects. Read the Motortrend car of the year review, its totally spot on. Hoping to land a GTS soon

Price aside, the m4 GTS is an extremely interesting and cool car. To get one under $100k seems like an insane deal. While it will surely rise in value, I would purchase one to keep.

Wow, crazy to see the prices dropping. Could be temporary though.
I do wish BMW would have put a N/A race motor in their GTS. How cool would that be! I bet if they did, the resale would be through the roof. I know I would be lusting for one. But with a turbo... meh. That's what keeps the 911 variants unique, and strong resale. If you want a N/A race motor to knock your socks off, you have to go GT car. BMW stuck with turbo's which makes this car less special. 911.1 GT3 prices are taking a hit now that the 991.2 GT3 has 1) updated 4.0 motor 2) manual trans 3) touring pack. Until that announcement, 991.1 GT3's were staying at sticker. This shows P also listens to their customers. Hopefully BMW will do the same and follow Porsche GT cars.

I just test drove the 2018 M3 with Comp package and the 2018 M4 Conv this week. You really cannot compare even the 2018 models with the GTS as far as performance. Night and day difference. I have not taken mine on the track yet but having driven M2, M3 and M4s on the track I would still say none of them compare to the GTS. I've driven it quite a lot around town and as a daily driver it is not bad for what it is. (And our roads are bout = to third world) My daily is an e60M. Ultimately, I think the performance qualities, limited number and design will prove to be a winner for values but will be many years before it will be worth even MSRP. IMHO.

After studying the market really carefully, I'm beginning to wonder if the smarter money wouldn't be purchasing a 991 GT3? Why are GTSs with literally no miles sitting around not moving? When i say not moving I'm talking 6 months. Obviously its well documented for a variety of reasons that the market has softened but when does it harden? I like buying and selling cars often. I never thought I would get to this level doing this so often but what the hell. As much as I want to pull the trigger on a GTS, can't help but wonder if the GT3 would be the safer purchase? Decisions decisions.......

As with most things market related, it is better to buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying. The me too copy cat is usually too late to the game. Agree that the while the GT3 may be the better car, the GTS is the better buy.

If a GT3 pulls up next to you at a stoplight, now which one is the better buy?
