HIT AND RUN LA near Glendale Los Feliz Atwater Village

So this is a long shot but on 11/30 my car, 2017 M2, was parked on the side of the road overnight in atwater village. I woke up to the damage you see in the pictures. Another car behind me was hit as well. Head on...the car had to come over into opposite traffic and hit our cars from the front.

We are currently relocating to LA from the Bay Area. We're staying at an airbnb so only street parking. The car is so new that the plate got packed up in the move so that's why there is no plate on my car.

Obviously, I'm irate that someone would destroy my car and then run off like that... I'm out my deductible, not to mention diminished value of the car and just the sheer fact that it may not be the same anymore in aesthetics or driveability. I never bought a new M2 to street park it in LA, we were a week away from closing on our house with a garage....anyway just horrible luck.

The person that did this deserves to be found. They left behind their sideview mirror and a circular foglight. The mirror had a part number that shows it was a 2007-2010 Black Toyota Camry. The circular fog was an option.

If anyone in the Glendale or surrounding area has seen a 2007-2010 black camry parked on the side of the road missing a left mirror and a headlight please let me know. I know it's a long shot, but I feel like I just gotta put it out there. The police have a report and are working on it but you know how that goes. Posting in the F80 forum for more eyes.

Damn that is horrible. Unfortunately a black Camry is about as common as grass even one with body damage. Keep you eyes peeled around local body shops. Good luck

Check your neighbors and local stores around the neighborhood if they have surveillance cameras. You will be surprise what comes up. GL!

Wow unbelievable! Sorry to hear this story... Time to invest in a dashcam. I agree with the suggestion above. I would literally visit every house in the neighborhood and ask if they have surveillance cameras. Good luck with your search!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Blackvue DR650S-2 channel (front and rear camera). Hardwired so it runs 24/7, GPS and WiFi connected so it will send push notifications to your phone for "events" where you can log in live on your iPhone.

I spent about $500 for the best version on Amazon as a precaution living in LA. 2 weeks later someone hit me while driving and his insurance only accepted liability when I forwarded them the video. Worth every penny and easy to use!

I've only superficially researched these but I have concerns with those drawing battery all the time and the battery on these cars are apparently expensive AF since they're Lithium. Concerns warranted or not an issue?

That's what Cellink B is for. Camera draws power from this aux battery, and this aux battery only charges off of your car when engine is on. I use one.

Dashcams, only takes one event for it to pay for itself...

His airbags went off and shouted F*** you as he drove off. I was able to get his plates because a couple of cars chased after his csr for me to get the license plate.

That is totally insane!!!! How the hell can people do that and run. Did you file a police report? You need to file a police report in order for the insurance company not to fault you at less than 50% for the damages. Kinda stupid how CA insurance laws work.

S others mentioned this is why I'm getting a Dashcam for my M3. I am not taking any risks. Even though my father asked me why I got one, I told him for safety reasons.

This is why.

Dash cams that has parking features need a Cellink B on the F80/F82. It will draw directly from the lithium battery for the car and our battery is extremely pricey. Not to mention if the camera drains enough it starts messing with the car, the iDrive and computer will start cutting features from the car to save the battery.

I recently got the BlackVue DR750S 2CH and Cellink B 2nd Gen during Cyber Monday. It is worth it. While it might not stop a bad driver, least you will catch his ass.
