So, how's everyone doing with the markets? I'm having a hard time following it, I got no tips to share because if Amazon drops six points just before Christmas, I guess we ain't buying anything anymore.
On a lighter side, I now have seven dining room tables. Or six, I can't remember if I've counted the one I built to the ones I have, I've been hedging this project for 9 years or so. Anyway. Sup?

Zero presents bought.
Zero decorations done. Zero food bought. I do believe I'm rocking this shit, again.

Ha, same with us - we did buy some small pine trees with the light already in them, but we haven't gotten around to plugging them in yet.
Kind of a weird, non-normal year ... As for the markets, who knows, but we've been choreographing a tax-loss harvest ballet so we can get our trades in before the 31st - gonna be some complicated shit, moving around and between places ... so we have a schedule set and we begin on the 26th. If all goes well we should be done by the 28th, if not, who knows, maybe catastrophe. I mean overall, in normal-land we'd be sanely considering: But instead everyone's is panicking because: |

welp, Trump continues to deliver the Christmas Tax-Loss Harvest presents!
We had to upend our plan, but were able to capitalize on Trump's insanity - sure, the global order the West has been building for 70 years is being transferred to Russia, China, Turkey, and Iran, but at least we're getting a little something out of it! |

I can't wait to see what buff and palls with the really big shoes are up to . I'm pretty sure we won't need to read endless posts about how trump is saving the world through your 401ks for a while. That's a great list of allies you got there. Anyway the potato dish crisis of 2018 took 5 attempts but I sure did manage to get my family fed. Now I can... sleep. With no dreams of potatoes.

That's like calling your wife out of the blue on a business trip and saying you want to facetime right now just so she can see for herself that you're not banging a hooker not a good choice, is my point. |

Now only if we had had a system that keeps banks stable. Globally. I mean, I do hope nobody cut regulations. Anyway, I called my bank manager. I got my stocks to play with account and those pennies can basically handle our mortgage I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. I just don't be able to sell anything ever again, but I can be one fucking awful landlord.

well, Lups, Operation Tax-Loss Harvest was a success! At market open (down 20% from highs) we were able to lightening sell to book some nice 2018 losses, enough to offset other 2018 capital gain taxes, then immediately buy back into the market to capture the 6% increase at market close (we were probably only out of the market for a few minutes, so missed those gains, but i'll take a few minutes of misses). I could easily see how this could be a job - it's complex, and you have to really think through every trade, then you have to prep like you're going into an MMA fight: envision it in your mind, making each move, what could happen, what you'll do, etc, then 9am EDT SHOWTIME! Bust the trades, watch the receipts, monitor for system glitches, ensure each step. Then once the main action is over, watch to ensure everything is final over the next 30 days. It's pretty scary, but I sure as hell wouldn't trust anyone else to do it. |

So in case I was unclear, I'm shining my crystal ball but I still got nothing. Your move probably will turn out to be better than my staring match was. Hubby learned how to play a guitar today (well, to do a few hand thingies anyway) while I spent the day just being in a state of shock and wonder. I still got no comment, I have comments on how clueless I am now, but that seems to be a reoccurring thing these days. Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. I doubt this turmoil is over.

On the Christmas day, well, the night after that I went to bed at 3 am. I woke up for coffee at noon. Went back to bed and I was up and running around for almost a half an hour until lunch was done, and went back to bed. Today I bravely woke up at five am, put in the laundry, and decided to rest my eyes for a bit. At noon I tried that coffee thing, again.
Well, obviously drinking coffee is the universal way to start a nap but I barely made it to lunch and in bed I was again. It was closer to 8.30 pm when I bravely woke up for a round of monopoly and a coffee, and back to bed I went. I've learned from my past mistakes, so since I just woke up, I'd like to say hi, and good morning to you all. I'm going back to bed for a tiny nap now. If I won't return in days again, let's assume I just went in to a more permanent form of coma. Anyway, a happy nap time for me, you all enjoy your day!

The winds in SGV is crazy as hell right now.
Was outside for 5 minutes going into Starbucks and I got a headache from all the wind.
