Agreed. My "new to me" 2017 M3 with 13,800 miles is currently getting a respray on the front and rear arches. I already have an appointment for PPF the day after I pick it up.

From what I'm told you should be waiting 30-60 days before installing PPF over fresh paint. Might want to broach that with your installer.

I talked to three different places with that same concern (had heard similar), and no one had any issues. They said as long as the paint was dry they could still do corrections on it, and the changes would be reflected in the install.

If it looks jacked in a few months, I'll let you know.

After about 90 days of ownership the wife choose to add PPF to the rocker panels because they were getting peppered by road debris and recently salt from snow prep. I feel better knowing that the peppering it will take in the future will be in PPF not the paint and when it starts to look like crap we can remove the PPF and redo it have it look like new. Bruce_SC for polished out the imperfections installed the PPF and recoated the area!

We had already done PPF on the side skirts after removing the factory pieces.

BMW put a piece of clear protection in this specific area because they know of this problem. Its the only place they put paint protection . However they didnt cover enough area....
What if u just get different tires that aren’t as sticky as the ones they came with?

Do u think that would help? I think it would help. It would be nice driving around with tires that don't have tape on them.

Anyone tried these, they look good and are slim, but pricey at 400.

Honestly, black plastic would suffice and most of the rocks are coming from the wider track of the front hiring the rear quarters. Would not pay $400 for those. You can wrap your rear bumper in xpel for $400 lol

If you want flaps, Google "Tommy L Garage Mudflaps".

I've got a set and they work great. At a quarter of the cost.

I'm actually taking my CS back in tomorrow to get some additional coverage on the bumper behind the rear wheels (I already have the rockers and extended impact area done). That said, should I tell them to add coverage on a portion of the rear doors too? I haven't noticed issues there on my previous M3, but it looks like maybe other people have.
