When she bought her previous car, a new 2011 335is Coupe, we considered the E92 M3, but decided that it wouldn't have made a good daily driver. Times change, and the F80 gets way better mileage than a E92 M3.

I've driven my e36m, e46m, and rwd 335i through winter. My best friend drives his f82 through Chicago winters.
any car can drive through winter with the right set of tires and a good driver behind the wheel. But I don't take my own m3 through winter. all that salt and dirt... no thanks. If paint never chipped and cars never rusted i'd consider it. The thought of having to repaint my Silverstone bumper freaks me out. I've seen too many bmws with repaints that didn't match 100%

I daily one of the E30's because at slow speeds and cruising, it's a more enjoyable experience.

Well I do daily it but I don’t really need to. I have had it for 1 year and just rolled over 3800 miles. I’ve thought about buying a second one too lol.

DD. 63 miles one way to work, twice per week. Combination of back roads and highway.
I think my car really loves me because the oil gets hot, the cars runs for well over an hour during the drive, and it gets a regular high rpm stint on a secret stretch of road! |

Does anyone daily their M3/M4 CS? I traded in my M4 ZCP (daily driver) for a M3 CS and will be driving it everyday!

I drive my F82 on a daily basis. To the office, getting groceries, weekend activities, roadtrips, vacations etc....
I thought about leasing a Mini for daily, but I would always catch myself every time I drive the car with the though that I would love to drive my F82 instead. So I stayed with the F82 for daily driving and couldn't be happier. I have an "old" E46 M3 in my garage as well - which I'll only drive when the weather is good. So the Mini would have been the beater for the beater...

Leased M3 = daily driver
Any less would be a total waste of money. I drive the shit out of mine and love every minute of it. Same here, almost never drive it anymore. The F80 is so much more fun to drive... will be selling the 46M soon. The M3F guys can't fathom this, I know... hell, I couldn't either... but once you get some seat time in the modern chassis it's lights out 46.

It's my daily driver for sure. It's sitting at 50,406 miles and I drive it at least 50 miles every day including in Midwest snow.

I think that's what this car was designed for. Its not a track machine, or a weekend only cruiser. Its meant to be enjoyed on a daily basis. That's my 2 cents anyway. I share your fears however of damage done to the car by the careless. I always park far away and walk through the parking lots.... |

DD for me. 30 miles each way 85% freeway. That's one of the reasons I got the M3; I wanted something that felt powerful, even at freeway speeds when most cars gutless.
