M2C or M3 CS?
I was about to pull the trigger on an M2C when I got a call from my dealer. He says they are looking to blow out their M3 CS that they have been sitting on for a while. I went and drove the car, and it’s really amazing. Big difference in handling compared to my old M3 ZCP. The car is so flat around turns.
The reason I sold my M3 ZCP is it had a tune, and after hearing all the stories about the crank hub, I wasn’t able to really enjoy the car without being in fear! Feel free to ask any questions! I will answer as honestly as possible! |

Same crank hub on the CS... and the M2 Competition... just saying.
Just get what you want and enjoy it. Every car has a weak point, but don't let it be a deterrent. Good luck with your decision.

so you put f80 back to stock and traded it, dealer didn't check the ecu?
i would assume dealer is more interested selling the floor stock car then worry about the trade |

Smart move, how good was the deal? Small fleet hanging around here in CT. Might possibly shop sometime over the summer.

I was in the market for a replacement for my M3. Like you the M2C was a strong contender. There is two Hockenheims near me that I wanted. I hadn't considered the M3CS because of the price, but I got wind of the deals and jumped! Got my Lime Rock Grey for $15k off sticker before incentives. Total $19500 off zero down. I say go for it.

The M3Z has almost zero body roll bone stock. While I believe the CS probably has even less.... I can hardly see that as the distinguishing factor. Really an odd thing to call out/focus on in my opinion.
I mean, if the ZCP rolls so much (too you) then just get a set a sway bars and be done. But alas.... ZCP + less roll does not a CS make.... which is my point. What about the steering feel? Grip? Balance? Power? Ride quality? Response? Etc. etc.

What I"m saying is that there are surely other, more significant, differences than simply how much it rolls in the corners. To call out that as the shining difference seems.... odd. I'm sure the CS is amazing. Not doubting that at all.... just that it's amazing-ness is surely the result of a cumulative effect of multiple, subtle changes, just as the ZCP is to the base M3.

Hey Contemplating this move myself for my daily.....I just care about how much fun my cars are for me...So which way to go...
Just had a M2 Comp last week for a few days, I was not crazy about the reg M2 even though I know it's a 'good car', I found the M2 comp a lot more scrappy which I loved and the seats are better etc, anyways I liked it quite a lot and thought this would make just such a fun daily....I currently drive a Manual JCW mini for my main daily....My dealer is throwing a great deal for their M3 CS my way making it kinda close actually. What's the play here? I have an x3 for deep winter or if I need a more practical approach, but I will drive this car year round I won't baby it, so we talked about removing the carbon splitter for winter and a winter wheel and studded tire package just in case...., I'm not crazy about the lack of heated steering wheel and the ridiculous lack of Comfort access...That drives me batty on my GTS, and it's not a car I drive a ton, on my daily I could see that being annoying. So for those that have nabbed a M3 CS hit me up with your thoughts with living with it as a daily racking up km's...this wouldn't have been on my radar normally b/c of the price point, but now that it is, should I swing for this curveball, or just go with the M2 comp, which was my orig thought. |

Both cars do well in their class but side by side, one just looks a bit toyish!

I like the idea of the M2C, especially in a 6 MT. But why does BMW continue putting boat anchor over styled wheels on their 'competition/GTS" models?

Some good deals to be had on the CS cars now. They are trading in the 60s. They are heavier than I’d have expected at 3600 lbs. m2c is also a porker at nearly the same weight. |

Yup, I was one of the ones that got a firesale deal on my M4 CS thankfully. I feel bad for the early adopters that bought the CS/GTS cars at or near MSRP. |
