For all those wanting full screen apple carplay...

Kubax was awesome.

I got it installed onto the car in about 10 minutes. I had issues getting my phone to connect to carplay via bluetooth and Kubax suggested I hold my phone closer to the head unit. It took about 3 more tries, but I found if I put my phone in the small space behind the cup holders that it very quickly connected and I now have carplay with full screen.

FYI don’t be a goober like me and update your firmware to version S via the dealer. Kubax isn’t able to put full screen on S (yet?).

Another happy kubax86 customer! I had my car in the shop for a fault in the collision avoidance system and got a '20 5 series as a loaner which had full screen CarPlay. I was immediately lusting after it, but I was still on nbtEVO_MXXXXX, so I needed a flash in addition to the enablement. Jakub got me all set up pretty much the same day I contacted him (I already had the enet adaptor from earlier coding) and I am absolute _loving_ full screen CarPlay on my F34. Thanks again!

I contacted KubaX86 a night ago over PM, requesting the Widescreen patch information and cost.

I had my response in the morning, and this afternoon, my 2018 F80 CarPlay is displaying in widescreen on my iDrive. With iOS 13+, is even better, as others have said.

He responds quickly, and makes sure that you are completely satisfied. He deserves every one of the accolades that others have posted on this thread.

I am adding my recognition to KubaX86 for another job well done.

I've got an M2 (2017) with the NBTevo_Mxxxx firmware. I really would like to have full screen CarPlay but from what I've read I need the BMW dealer to update my iDrive firmware first. I also read that the latest firmware version S is not compatible with the FullScreen CarPlay mod.

What do I need to do?

Sorry for the repeat question but want to confirm.

Software version S there is no option for full screen CarPlay?? 😢

Car went in for cylinder misfire and after replacing my coil dealer had to do a 'software' update to clear my rough idle and now I have software version S(from R) and I lost full screen CarPlay.

Please tell me I read that wrong ... full screen is so freaking nice!!!

Also I thought this car was fast with Five cylinders... so nice to have six again.
