I need a reverse camera! This is unacceptable.

I thought an 80k car should come with a backup Camera. I don't drive daily but when I do it's always nerve racking reversing. I'm done I need this.

I think I've seen the bimian retrofit but they have 2
Options I think.

Anyone have any suggestions or is that the only option that's is cost effective?

I wonder if I can use parts from a part out car ? Thank you

My car is 2016

No camera gang checking in. It's a little absurd, I agree.

I have a 2015 and used Bimmertechs rear view camera kit and it works perfectly.

I did an OE retrofit on my 2015. I recommend the bimmer-tech solution.

Rear and surround (5) cameras were an option in 2016, federally mandated rear camera standard in MY2018.

My car has a backup camera and 360 view. I've used it a total of 1 time and I daily my car and reverse into my garage. Learn to use your mirrors and you won't need a camera.

Also the Pagani Hyuara is a way more expensive car than our F8Xs and that didn't come with a backup camera standard. You're paying for the car to go fast first, features second.

What are you going to do? I grew up and drove cars that didn't have a passenger side mirror sometimes. How on earth did I ever change lanes without hitting someone.

I can feel your frustration, but you knew the car didn't have a backup camera when you bought it. Yeah it's a great feature to have, but you still have a rearview mirror, and I assume you can turn your head to look out the back window.

I thought all back up camera were mandated for the newer cars. Guess it didn't apply to the 3 series or the M3.

Psst. People lived in cities before backup cameras. You can drive without one. I've seen it done.

It is mandated, for cars Model Year 2018 and newer. BMW just waited until the last possible second so they could continue charge for it. I'll be honest, I thought it was MY2017 as well when I ordered my stripper, only to find out during delivery that it didn't have one. I was a little annoyed, but I'm over it.

I didn't want the extra holes in the bumpers from all the cameras/sensors, so I wouldn't have changed my initial spec, but I haven't been bothered enough by it to retrofit a backup camera. I've just adapted my driving/parking style to not back up as much, and check my surroundings before getting in my car, like how people used to in the good ol' days.

I wouldn't own an M3 in a big city anyway. It's too nice. 500 Abarth, GTI, or Mini Cooper with big turbo and apocalypse spec brush guards on both front and rear. Nobody's getting close to you then .

You can but why guesstimate when at times and out of your control you're parking in spots with < 6 inches combined on both sides to spare. The car is garaged usually but on the rare occasion I have to street park, the bumper guard is whipped out too. Yes, can't stop sinning

Ding ding ding! Daily a Cooper S and the M is mainly for those weekend out of town drives. need to get the apocolyptic brush guards though.

How cheap? My buddy with an M4 is starting to finally crack lol

And seriously I can't fathom how this just isn't standard equipment. I was sure there was a federal law for them in 2015 but I guess not.

With the HU, essentially yes. But make sure that it will work with a NBT or NBT EVO, depending on what you have compared to the seller.
