Track tyres
i have an M3 comp daily driver that i track maybe 6 times per year. on my first track outing i destroyed the front MPSS tyres that it came with. i then bought a secondhand spare set of standard 19" wheels that came with MC2 for track use. I have now taken these as far they will go and am looking at a more dedicated track tyre for the 19`s. looking for reccommendations.
i can get the toyo r888r but the sidewall is 30 not the standard 35, not sure if this is a problem. any advice appreciated. |

Give the nankang ar1 a try if you have a dedicated track wheels set, half the price of the cup2 and perform on par with the r888r on the track

I also saw someone using the Toyo Proxes R888R at a recent track day. I think some people were also using the A050 or Z221 or similar looking tyres. I think the Cup 2s are great if you have only one wheel set but IMO these other tyres will be faster but not as ok if you get caught out in the rain.

R888....BZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I'm yet to see a track comparo that says "better than" Cup2. Pricey, but you're at the pointy end already.
