I really hope not. I know the values will rise with time but it's too soon. I need to buy one first!

I confirmed it. It really did sell at asking price. DC area has too much money I guess

The values are already quite strong in Europe. A European CoC (Certificate of Conformance) from BMW is only $130 - I am quite surprised more cars have not been exported. Even with VAT/duties, an $80k car here would be ~88k EUR. It's definitely a bit of a hassle for seller/buyer, but both could do pretty well on that transaction. It's certainly an avenue I will explore when it's time to move on. |

Super expensive to import into Europe. Even in an uncivilized country like Spain (where I'm from) you're going to pay 20% VAT + 15% carVAT to even begin the conversation. And they'll base VAT on whatever the hell they want, probably market price in Europe.
If you're a Spaniard returning to Spain and you've owned the car for over 6 months there's a slight break, but overall still a tough thing to do. Growing up over there I permanently fantasized about bringing American cars over. EDIT: I will say this though, if I have to go back to Europe due to unforseen circumstances I will sell all my current cars including my beloved mint Montecarlo blue E92 and buy two GTS |

But the cheapest one in Germany is $130K. And you can get very good examples in the US for $80-$85k. Even with the hassle of international purchasing, shipping, duties, VAT, obtaining a CoC and legalizing the car, you still are saving a significant chunk of change. Shipping is maybe $2k containerized, CoC is cheap ($130), the car + VAT is around $110k. Saving 15k EUR seems like it might be worth it to someone. And that's just using the cheapest car in the Euro market. The price for a typical low mileage car in Europe is probably closer to $150k. |

Like @786 said... could have been an impulse buy or a trade-in deal.

Check www.theparking-cars.com and you can search for bmw m4gts by country. Prices have been rising significantly in the past few weeks. That car is a keeper though... |

Was a black CPO east coast of Florida. Listed for mid-90's, 1,xxx mileage (I think), didn't last long.

So one of my friends fell in love with my car and is now looking for one. He checked on Autotrader, only 8 for sale in the whole country and 1 is at msrp so really only 7 realistic options. Supply seems to be drying up.

I see a day not so long from now when they are $100k+ except for higher mileage examples like mine. Just look to Europe, it's already happened there (though their supply is significantly lower than ours and demand is probably a bit higher). |

Would be cool if you're right about values in the future, I don't really care personally but would be nice to see the car get recognized for what it is. |
