Who raced you today?

My best friend's Giulia QV just got out of warranty and he did a VF engineering stage 1 custom tune on it making 540whp. Tuner recommended that he puts about 3-5L of E85 every tankful of 98 RON, as our Australian fuel is not that great in octane quality. I am running BM3 stage 2 E30 map with downpipes and BMC filters.

We did plenty of runs against each other.

Run 1 on a 3rd gear roll from 80kmh to 220kmh: I beat him by about 2 cars length

Run 2 on a 3rd gear roll from 100kmh to 230kmh: I beat him by about 1.5 cars length

Run 3 on a 4th gear roll from 100kmh to 230kmh: I beat him by about 2 cars length

Run 4 on a 4th gear roll from 100kmh to 250kmh: I beat him by about 2.5 cars length

The tuning potential of the Giulia QV is very good. Once he goes stage 2, would be a lot closer!

Surprisingly he hasn't had any warranty claims during his 3 year ownership period other than a rear door window regulator

It was a highway roll, high rpm range.

A Bentley Continental GT (not sure if V8 or V12) driven by a Chinese international student looking guy with his Chinese international student looking girlfriend in the passenger seat, sped up behind me and started tailgating me from behind when I was going for my Sunday morning drive. I am on BM3 E30 OTS Stage 2 tune with catless downpipes, BMC filters and MPE. I downshifted three times to get into 3rd gear and he swung from being behind me to go into my right lane and full throttled forward. By the time I was about 230kmh, I was well over 4 bus lengths ahead. I put on my hazards to signify the win and then he sped past me and put his hazards on as well when I slowed down to the speed limit

How did you race that? Were you near a body of water?

The v8s have 542hp and the v12s have 630hp and are 4WD. So yes they are quite fast for their weight. If it was from a dig, I would be destroyed until very high speeds when I’ll reel it in.

Took me by at least 10 car lengths. As soon as I realized he was racing me, I couldn’t catch up.

Ever cruise by someone in quickish car and they decide they are going to drive on your bumper? Happened to me today. This dumb ass wanted to follow behind me at a car length or two and there was no other traffic on the 4 lane road. I was already doing about 15 over the limit.

My stick shift on Stg2E30 versus their automatic...highway rolls:

Worked up Nismo with no bumper and a face full of pipes...3sec to gap him. 2x

Stock M2 comp...I kept pulling ahead. 5sec to get a gap. 2x

Worked/Tuned Caddy CTS-V...first run he got the jump, second time I got it, nobody inched (345 shift both times). Last run he got the jump again but I kept inching up (all 4th) and could have taken him but traffic was coming up.

Not all this week. Caddy was the most fun.
