It is a forgotten art, but politicians are supposed to make deals so that everyone benefits. This pearl clutching thing and standing in a narrow corner in all issues is just time and money wasting and idiotic.

Welp, on the car front, we're just not sold on the X5 phev given the battery recalls so we're just gonna rent for awhile ... though neither of us are sure what we're waiting for ...
The car world really sucks right now. I honestly can't think of any vehicle for any price that seems both fun and worth it. |

The Q7/Q8 are also pretty nifty. That or go super out there and just grab the Hyundai Palisade. I honestly seen about all I can with BMW at this point, nothing on their front really excites me.

It's seriously depressing - I've looked at all the options and there's literally no vehicle that seems remotely worth it to me. Maybe the Ferrari Roma. |

I'm kinda liking the Macan GTS ... not really for gts stuff but for the engine. I don't love the look, but it kinda seems like a bargain (i'm gonna assume cash is best since their lease deals always suck)
anything I need to know about wait times for ordering one? I don't really care either way, just wondering on the experience. Also, ever done the LA experience center? |

I would attempt at the Cayenne too if the space is absolutely necessary. Macan is about as big as a traditional sedan inside so. Lease is not good, at least compared to BMW. I do not know if the lease rates have gone up since it's 3%ish APR. No German companies lease well compared to BMW aside from maybe VW. I never did a delivery with LA Experience Center so I have no clue. P.S. My official allocation time was start of September 18th. I put my order in on August 27th. Current delivery time is December 11th, it was pushed back from November 27th. I haven't asked for an update from my CA yet, I will this week.

btw... Sedan Clan's half assed attempt at trying to "upset" me with that MrsGamer legit made me laugh.
Can't come up with anything else so that's all he had? Really? I love how try hard some old people gets when it comes to their insults.

GrussGott Oh and I think minn19 mentioned the difference between the Palisade and Telluride are near minimal aside from the obvious exterior and interior difference.
From my brief look, some packaging differences are there between the two but seems Kia Talluride seems to edge out the win barely due to the outer look of the car isn't as crazy as the Palisade. Both are super slow though.

What do you think I can expect for a discount off MSRP on a macan gts? any other discounts I should be looking for? (e.g., penfed, incentives, etc?) Is rennlist the best forum for macan stuff? Thanks! |

That said, the Macan S and Turbo is easier to get off MSRP due to the abundance of them but the Turbo (specced closer to a GTS) won't be as engaging as the Macan GTS.

BMW still wins in the iDrive department and transmission. But, Comand isn't bad once you get used to it and the materials/fit and finish are much better than BMW IMO. Also, the Burmeister system is miles ahead of the shitty HKs. Macan GTS obviously isn't a bad way to go either. |

Well, it's looking like allocations are tough on the GTS ... good news is I'm not in a hurry so I'll try a few places and see if I snag any year end pushes or something. I think the GTS is a good enough bargain that I'd pay msrp - it's pretty fast! relatively ...
and, if that fails, i guess i'll have to start looking at the amgs and maybe it'll be my last v8 |

On my F8x I have my M2 button config'd to sport plus on everything except the suspension which I leave on comfort and that's what use always and I always manually shift ... one thing I like about the macan is the DCT and the high revving nature of the hot V6 - I wasn't planning on having that, but if I can get it in an SUV, that's awesome! So that brings me back to the sport chrono - if I skip it will I miss the sharper pedal response / faster shifting modes? Or is there another way to set it w/o SC? Or are the porsche SC modes ridiculous so I wouldn't use them anyway? If they're like BMW's M2 button that lets you set every up to kickass then I want it. Do you know how they work? Thanks! |

I am sure you have guessed, Sport+ on the Macan GTS (or most Porsche cars that isn’t GT that makes you buy Sport’s Chrono), it basically makes the PDK shift at redline only. Unlike regular Sport mode, it shifts late, but it won’t shift at redline. It would be akin to our BMW D3 Sport Plus mode for our F8x cars. It also rejiggers the PASM on the Macan GTS (GTS comes with Porsche’s Air Suspension as standard) to be on the firm end but it probably won’t be like our M when BMW just seem to never get their dampening or rebound correct. I also been reading that the Sport+ mode for the PDK also makes it so it won’t ease the torque when it auto shifts, so it is very aggressive and hard when it shifts. I don’t have this on our S, so I can’t tell you how it feels. I did order it with our upcoming GTS but I don’t have the car yet so, I can’t really tell you that either lol. Pedal response wise, it goes from heavy to slightly lighter with an obvious sharper pedal response. You can also easily tell the car is a dual clutch and not a traditional auto due to the car’s shifting behavior. As, all DCT cars have a certain behavior when it shifts at low revs/low gear. Porsche managed to soften this annoyance when it’s in it’s Comfort/Normal setting but it’s extremely diluted and lags the tranny a lot. Our Macan S has a LOT of turbo lag on its Normal setting, it’s far less noticeable on its Sport setting. The configurability of it isn’t as extensive as our M though. You gain the little button dial on your steering, which is how you choose by rotating the dial. Engine Response & Tranny, and Chassis (Suspension). I prefer to get my hands on it to fully understand it myself. I know it also gives you a Sports Response option. Which, it gives you 20 seconds of Sport+ for… hooligan reasons. Is it an absolutely necessity for the Macan GTS? No, I wouldn't say so but I would say it is extremely high up option wise. Since the Macan GTS is the sport oriented version of the car, I would option it in. Now, if you are getting a Macan S or Macan Turbo, then the Sports Chrono Package isn't necessary. I remember you have the habit of liking to shift on your own, so having Sport+ with Manual Shifting is probably more ideal for you. However, keep in mind Porsche never changed the gear lever so it's still backwards on the Macan for some reason. What I mean by this is, Pushing Forward is to Shift Up, Pulling Back is Shifting Down. They (Porsche) finally fixed this annoying backwards crap on the Cayman, Boxster, 911 but never on the Macan for some reason. P.S. https://www.macanforum.com/threads/n...ehavior.71713/
