MD Shop for Exhaust Install

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone had any shop recommendations in the Rockville/Silver Spring/Montgomery County area to have an exhaust installed.

I've done some searching and came across 3 reputable shops (Speed&Tech, RRT, and Induktion Motorsports) but they are kinda far. I wanted to see if anyone had positive experiences with a shop closer to me.

Anyone have experience with S2 Dynamics?

If not, I'll probably just end up going to one of the shops I mentioned above.

Thanks!

Do it yourself? Or ask one of the local guys to help you? If Mperformance dealer will do it for 1 and half labor. If something else that doesn't require cutting all you really need are some hand tools and ramps/jacks.

Also exhaust install is pretty basic so I imagine S2 dynamics would be fine if didn't want to go to any of the other shops.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing it myself (there's no cutting involved) but I'm still not sure I'm capable enough lol. Thanks for the info

Google f80 m3 exhaust install if you are feeling it. Tons of how to and anyone of them will tell you what's involved.

Yeah, I found this last night and it's a similar set up
. Doesn't seem too bad but the only thing is I don't have floor jack, nor jack stands. I plan on getting them anyways to swap out my tires and maybe do other smaller things. I've got some time though since I just ordered the parts and I think the AA EL mid pipe is delayed lol

Get a jack and ramps from Harbor Freight, will last you a lifetime. I use the red TORIN jack stands (https://www.amazon.com/Torin-Big-Alu...omotive&sr=1-9) because I find them easier to use then the tower looking ones. And they take up less real estate. Other than that get something to put on the floor to lay on, cardboard, moving blanket, space blanket or something like that.

Thanks, I had all those on my list of "to buy" besides the ramp. I was looking at the tower looking jack stands instead of the one you posted. I'll do some more digging about the two different jack stands.

You wouldn't happen to know if a full ZCP exhaust will fit inside the car with the seats down? I'm leaning towards no, right?

Go down the street to Scandinavian Import Center off Gude Drive. While they primarily handle Volvo/Saab, they have techs that work on BMWs too.

Their GM is a good friend of mine and used to be an SA at several BMW dealerships. I've taken my car there several times and they do good work.

BTW you wouldn't happen to live in RTC do you?

My dumbass went outside to "try" and measure it but I was almost positive it wouldn't fit but wasn't 100% sure lol

Oh nice, thanks bro! I'll check em out.

I live sorta near RTC.. I live off of Wootton Parkway near the Wintergreen Plaza. You've probably seen me driving on the pike lol but I've only had the car for less than a month. You nearby?

I'll be over at RRT on Monday for my AA EL install. They have done all the work on my car and I've had no issues with them, great team over there.

+ 1. Customer service is next level, pricing is fair and Aaron is (1) of a select few that I allow to touch my car.

My manager also recommended RRT. He said he doesn't take his car anywhere else lol. Are you going to run it with the ZCP axle back? Or a different one? I ordered the AA EL with the Remus Axle back from xPH like ~2 weeks ago but I have no idea when I'll get it though..

I used Scandinavian Import Center for many repairs on my E46 M3 and I had them install an Autosolutions SSK on my F80 M3.

I'm thinking about hitting them up for a mid cycle oil change before I get the yearly/10k one from my maintenance package at the dealership.

Great choice! I live over an hour away and Speed & Tech is 1 of 3 shops (1 being the dealerships for warranty stuff) that I will let touch my car. Customer service is next level and the attention to detail is unrivaled.
