Hey guys,

If anyone is looking to sell their MG or FG GTS, I'm looking to buy. Over 10k mileage ok but not interested in GTS cars that have seen the track. Thanks.

GTS cars should only see the track.

Besides the CCBs I would not be worried about a GTS that has been on track. The cooling systems are overbuilt and besides the crankhub the S55 + DCT combo has been quite reliable. Instead of worrying about if a car has been on track, I'd be worried about if it has been tuned and if it has had the water injection distribution block replaced + all the usual recalls.

I already have 2 GTS cars so I'm familiar with the common issues. I don't want a car that has been pushed repeatedly to its limit on the track or heavily modified.

Acquired a black GTS first because they are the hardest to find. Has 800 miles now. Next a white GTS with 1,000 miles. Now making my way to the frozen g. and mineral g. colors which are a lot more common in GTS. Such a special car for BMW enthusiast stateside. Prices will rocket up when BMW announces they are not going to bring their most track focused car to the US again. Hope you plan on keeping yours for a long time like me!

I have one black and one frozen grey, neither is going anywhere! I love them. They are special cars and I don't plan on selling them regardless of how much they go up in price.

Whenever BMW releases a special model, the order of events is entirely predictable.

Are you suggesting the new CSL won't be sold in the US market?

Given the poor reception of the F82 GTS in America, I wouldn't be surprised if BMW skips America for a G82 CSL. My hope is they bring over a G82 CSL but are intelligent about allocation. Clearly there isn't Porsche levels of demand for a track-focused BMW.

Yup. We all know about the GTS allocation blunder

Americans don't know how good they had it when BMW allocated 300 GTS to the US. The result was a bunch of spoiled brats. I don't see the CSL happening for the US market.

I think it will. The market is hungry for hardcore pure ICE sports cars/sedans. They didn't appear to have any problems selling their allocations of the M5 CS for US and Canada. I predict similar pricing and production volume for the CSL.

I've been tracking GTS VINs for 5 years and I have almost all US cars tracked. Does not look like there were 400 US cars made so unless you can provide a list of 400 VINs for US GTS cars ...

Despite selling out in the US, GTS was not well received here unlike other parts of the world. BMW has made some bad decisions these days so who knows, maybe they will bring a CSL stateside but I wouldn't count on it. I believe this was a first and they learned their mistake.

Can’t say I have the VINs, but this old thread is a good read

It's a different market now. The current demand for track oriented ICE sports cars is very robust. Just look at the wait lists for the GT3 and GT4 RS. I realize Porsche is a different animal but I think the demand for a CSL in the US will be healthy. People are also seeing such cars hold value better than in the past so rightly or wrongly, they'll feel confident paying up for a CSL - particularly if it's a limited edition.

Also, BMW has been on a roll with the M2 CS and M5 CS models. Enthusiasts have extra faith in BMW to deliver a special product when they put their minds to it.

Dont think you have been tracking them well in that case, There certainly were almost an extra 100 cars allocated to the U.S

Check Cars.com. Just happened to check this morning. There are now 14 for sale. Much better choice at widely different prices from cheapest to most expensive…
