F80 M3 Center Console Issue

Recently noticed a corner lifting on the carbon fiber center console trim. I lifted the corner with barely any effort and it completely separated . not sure if any one else has dealt with this. Any suggestions on repairing it? is there a certain adhesive I have to apply? or am I better off just looking for a replacement?

That is annoying. Just glue it back on. I would use super glue.

I’d also use super glue or a Gorilla Glue general purpose adhesive. I’d apply it to the entire top surface of the still attached piece, a single line of glue on the vertical faces and leave a decent gap around the Idrive controller. The gap is so glue can’t whisk up onto the top surface of the CF cover.

I would remove the attached panel piece, then use some aggressive sand paper to rough up the surface to not only get rid of the old glue, but provide the new glue with something to bite into. As far as glue goes, I would use something that has with really good bonding strength. I would also purchase a few clamps to sandwich the two pieces together. Just my thoughts

We are forgetting, to find a glue with tolerance to high heat.

That is a dam good point, as our cars interior can reach well over 150 degrees in the direct summer sun.

First, roughing up the surfaces for bonding is a great idea. After completing the roughing up procedure, wipe it down with Simple Green to remove any oil contaminants and debris.

Second, if you’re concerned with interior temps, use an epoxy glue/adhesive which can handle temps up to 300 deg F.

I'd just replace the damn thing. It's obviously a faulty part. This piece is maybe 260 bucks and you touch it everyday.
