The GT3 is not limited to a specific number either. Just the production cycle could be shorter. In the Cayman GT4 its probably going to be a year to year and a half. And yes a GT4 is mass produced along with every other cayman and 911 and every other model under the 918. they are on an assembly line...a very awesome one with almost entirely all human hands building them. Porsche will build as many as they get orders for. http://flatsixes.com/cars/porsche-ca...es-cayman-gt4/

The GT4 is a great track toy you can get to and from your home. Its even a fun weekend cruise car however it always wants to be pushed much harder than would be safe or legal on a public street. The M3/M4 is a great all around car that is quite capable on a track stock. with some wider gummy tires I think it actually would be right there with a cayman GT4. We shall see this summer. point being originally the question of this post. would a cayman gt4 replace an M3? I think the cayman gt4 would be a poor replacement for an all around sporty car. they are however going to be great stable mates for those lucky enough to have them both.

GT4 appears to be quite the track toy. $84,600 MSRP. Certainly not cheap lol.

There is more done to this car than almost any car you'll come across, and that fully knowing they held back a lot on this car, as they always do. It's flat out gorgeous too. Nothing for the price will handle anywhere close. |

Indeed. He was always a big fan of the more 'base' Cayman models too so not surprising he likes the hyper-Cayman.
....and it is hard to blame him.

awesome review. with all of the GT3 parts, this car seems to really be like the 1M was to the e92 M3, and I mean that in a good way. anyone lucky to get their hands one of these should hold onto it, as I suspect it will really hold its value (moreso than the 991 GT3s).

I guess it all depends on what one prioritizes. If a 911-like chassis and 6MT are among the most important criteria, this seems to be the way to go without entering top tier 911 price territory.
