Idk man when I saw the new Fast 7 they raced a tuned R8 to a challenger or something and they let the challenger win. I was sitting in the theater and when that scene came on my jaw dropped so far I couldn't focus on the rest of the movie because it seemed so unrealistic to me

I feel your pain. I still watch them for the adrenaline and the fun little staged car action but deep inside I laugh a little every time I watch a scene where they make a ridiculous comparison like that one. Still entertaining movies but its false advertising! Now every guy I see in a challengers always gives me the hard-ass Dom look and I can't help but smirk

Every now and then Challengers try to have a little fun with me on the road and I bet every time I pass them they are like damn wtf is wrong with my car! I am gonna take it back to the dealer and show them fast 7 and tell them to fix my damn car

I was referring to the specific one from the movie, it's called a 'plymouth cuda' apparently, its a 1970s model. And yes I think its slower than a modern day R8 and I still believe that the race was unrealistic.

Ok, I just really have a problem with this scene. I've never had a BMW with functioning handbrakes. I mean the things are so pathetic, they are barely good for preventing the car from sliding down a 2% incline. Anything more than that and they won't hold.

So you want to tell me they did these stunts with BMW's handbrakes, at these speeds? I don't know man ... I don't know.

Conmon it's Tom driving. When someone at the wheel has the ability to float through the air himself...I don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility for him to project that power onto physical objects...

LOL - With enough mods any car can be fast.

You do realize that "1970 Cuda" car was just a frame/body with a lot of $$$ invested into it.

It has a new HEMI motor, modern Suspension, brakes etc.
Down a straight line - its not too far fetched it can beat an R8.

With enough money - u can get old VW bug or any Minivan and turn it into a 10sec car......
