The more I look at the VTT V2 & hear about results from the fastest F8X's. The more it makes sense as the ideal crank hub fix.
Plus the cheaper cost of installation is a no brainer.

Along with the dust covers, we replace the copper nuts and a new gasket for turbo oil line

I figure you're asking for other people's personal experience, but it's worth reiterating that there are zero V2 failures, many hundreds of them sold.

I have the v2 and CBC from Vargas, just finished beating on the car at Thunderhill East and West with no issues whatsoever. My j pipe clamps couldn't handle the track but the crank hub held up without issue.

I just DM'd EAS on Instagram so hopefully he's willing to work something out with me. Fingers crossed. Gonna do the full solution.

Having my crank hub installed for peace of mind and because I'm putting down pipes and a stage 2 tune it. The mechanic, very good friend of mine, said that it was at the 5 o'clock and would've spun at any time. My car is stock and a DCT comp car. I play around a lot on the autobahn and other country back roads and never thought twice about using the kick down. Anyhow, glad I had it done here in Germany. Only cost me 1,100€ for install.

Was just at EAS last week...wish I had known about this. Would have talked to Tom@EAS about it and priced it out with my BM3 tune we did.

Gents,
I'm having VTT SPLINELOCK installed on my M3 but... i see that the package contained only SPLINELOCK CrankHub. I have no Crank Bolt Capture in the package. I asked mechanic to postpone it until tomorrow and i need to find CBC asap unless all the work is gone and i need to book new slot and pay again. I cannot order it now directly from VTT or XPH as it'd take week or two to get delivered where i am, go through customs office etc so ordering from USA is not an option and cannot find any local dealer who has VTT CBC in Europe. - can i replace VTT CBC with other CBC that is locally produced? Assuming its CNC machined, aluminium , tested etc. Examples of CBC available here attached in pictures. Last edited by Jim45678; 02-09-2022 at 02:49 PM.. |

It would be nice if someone could engineer a CBC that had a hex pattern on the external surface of the central capture hub. If you need to manually turn over the engine (like when you need to change belts) current designs make it impossible to get a socket on there.
