A lot of times on the forums people magnify problems,
Like you got an m3 which has fucking amazing brakes, a little less stopping power and you still have some of the best brakes on the road compared to anything…. Unless you track, and I bet if you did you have Sep wheels tires and pads. The brake stopping power is moot point. I just ordered the akebonos |

I don't track my car but I occasionally push it on the backroads. I really want the dust reduction, but would hate for my backroad driving experience to suffer - will the Akebonos suffice, or are they strictly for street (freeway and local road speeds) use only?
And if the latter were to be true, then I probably have a brand new set of Akebonos (front + rear) to let go of. |

I went with EBC yellowstuff pads, but if you drive aggressively, get EBC bluestuff.

I'm in between Akebono and DS2500. I mainly want similar if not better braking performance with less brake dust. I drive freeway and streets most of the time but I go to the hills to cruise maybe once a month but I don't push it. Later this summer, I'm planning on at least one track day so I'll have a separate pad for that. Which pads would you recommend for my daily driving?

I don't have any direct experience with DS2500, but Yellowstuff will beat out DS2500 in terms of bite based on friction coefficient alone. Essentially, Yellowstuff will give you everything you are asking for (less dust compared to OE pads, very strong initial bite and better than OE stopping power).

I've got a set of Redstuff fronts and rears available to me for free. Better than OEM or skip em? I only drag race, no canyons or track. Just tired of cleaning wheels…

For free? I'd definitely try them out. Since they are R90 approved, you are essentially guaranteed that they will perform within 15% of OEM spec. I have a feeling that they will feel better than OEM as a result, especially with the 0.50 friction coefficient of red stuff.

I’m thinking of going with the ds2500. From what I have read they seem to be good pad for aggressive driving - are they better or about equal with OEM’s brake dust?

You are better off going with EBC Bluestuff pads. The DS2500 will be disappointing going from OEM.

You should definitely not be looking for low dust pads then lol. You want to go the other way. More dusts and more braking power

Akebono basically has like 10% dust compared to any ebc pad.
