There is no such thing as loyalty in the insurance industry. They are known to creep the rates up on long time policyholders because they know most won't bother switching. It is good practice to get new quotes every year or two.

I had Geico for several years and when I took the time to get quotes, I found that I would be saving $1000/year with Liberty Mutual. At the same time i checked my homeowners and saved another $1000. Its crazy, these bastards are crooks.

I just switched to Progressive from Geico and saved a ton. Granted Geico did save me money initial but over the past few years they kept increasing their premiums.

It pays to shop around after a couple of years.

I'm currently on my family insurance. I asked All State for a quote and that's what they gave. Yah I agree, loyalty is bullshit.

Surprisingly enough, my insurance went down about $300 annually with Liberty Mutual. I switched from 2013 550xi to 2016 M3.

using it now for my current car, gonna add M3 soon. quote for M3 alone is $66/mo base rate, 9.5 cent/mile, $250 deductible, 100/300k coverage. I dont drive much so its a no brainer for me. only downside is the claims go through National General insurance, which has very bad customer service compare to AAA that i used to have. a device has to be installed on OBD port thou, it provides all the info on your trips which can be seen via an app, kinda cool

Thanks for the feedback. Thats good info. I have Wawanesa right now and although they have been unbeatable for the past 4 years, I always like to shop around and not get too comfortable with any particular carrier.

FYI, I called my insurance to clarify and Uninsured/Underinsured covers medical expenses for YOU so it doesn't come out of your health insurance. I assume everyone on here has decent health insurance coverage or else you wouldn't be driving an M3/4 so I just cancelled mine. Man, this whole time I thought it was for collision. That coverage is specifically called collision under/uninsured waiver coverage. Goddam! I've been paying for unnecessary insurance for....FOREVER!

I have Wawanesa and I've shopped it around several times over the years. They still give me the best rates. I've gotten incrementally lower ones, but definitely not low enough for me to move over.

Good luck with Progressive - I jumped from them ASAP when they effed me twice.

First time was when I got t-boned in my E36 M3 about 8 years ago. They totaled the car and wouldn't pay up, trying to say it was a normal 3 series (and associated value) as they didn't get that an M3 was not a normal 3 series... despite the WBS* VIN...

I had to fight tooth and nail for them to finally pay up (think I had to have the dealer call them to explain, various docs, etc.). They wanted to originally give me 1/4 of the value of the car, and after all the fighting got them to give me the value.

Second time was when my E39 M5 was coming off a trailer, the front bumper got caught on a portion of the trailer and broke. I called them up, and they said it would have to be a collision claim, even though there was no driver in the car and it was off...

Tried to convince them it was a comp claim and they weren't having it. That ~$1500 repair sent my rates skyrocketing, so a few months later I said buh bye.

My point is, you pay less sometimes and you get shit service. Progressive is a perfect example of this, and many who have dealt with them might share the same stories (I know many body shops do...).

According to reports on national news that device can be used to hack into some cars. So be aware.

Where do you see the option for $0 glass? Did you speak to someone at Geico or are you managing your quote online?
