It looks much better in Alpine White and in direct sunlight.

The wheels also look better in natural light as well.

Hahaha... Ya, you never know

Read this interview with Andreas Preuninger about the 911 GT3 RS, especially the part about engine power... I found it very interesting regarding the topic we discussed quite some time ago

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/feature...s-by-the-boss/

I have also, since our previous tech discussion, verified first hand that BMW indeed does software mods that increase HP significantly over the type approved number... So sometimes one is right and sometimes one is not so right... That time it seems I was not so right... hahaha

It's not legal to have that lip extended for street driving. It retracts and only the carbonfibre part is visible for street driving.

So, it comes with a cargo liftgate on the front end?

I really want to like this car, but aesthetically, between that, the Pep Boys wing (don't preach to me about functionality - I am talking solely about how it looks), and the god awful wheels, BMW snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on this one.

Looks a lot better here -- probably because the suspension is under load in some of the pics and the car doesn't look like a 4x4. The wheels look better on AW too.

I'm sorry, but BMW dropped the ball HARD here. This thing is hideous. I loved the E46 CSL, loved the E92 GTS, but this is just gross. The wheels are awful. The front lip is awful. The rear wing is awful. I would much prefer a regular F82 w/ full M Performance Aero, JB4, and a set of the MPSC2's. And guess what, it would probably be faster too

Really disappointing is all I can say.

I'm pretty sure that the GTS will set some blistering times on the Ring and other tracks. Will be interesting to compare with 911 GT3 times etc. All those "ugly" aero parts are there for downforce, not for appearance (thanks to BMW for keeping true to function before form on a track car).

And thanks for not just making it a poseurs car with worthless styling tacked on that might look good, but doesn't provide max downforce!

I agree with ya. First people complain that the new M3 is too watered down, now people complain about the new M3 GTS being too hardcore... Can never win

Aero is there for a reason. It is a track car after all.

But still don't care for the wheels. Maybe minus the orange accents the wheels wouldn't look as bad.

it looks so much better with these photos. the concept car really didn't do it for me in person. I mostly disliked the orange elements and the wheels. I like the splitter and wing and I love the hood. Seeing the roll bar balances these elements out.

It's gone full circle. The poseur has become the benchmark now.

Well they fixed one part - the overplayed/outdated Frozen color!

Why they didn't make a bespoke front with the lip more integrated is beyond me. You can't possibly tell me that the M4 front bumper is already 100% perfect aerodynamically and it just so happens that by putting a big lip on it is the best solution for a track car. They made an all new hood, why not a purpose built front? Less tacked on lip...more M4 DTM style!

And it doesn't even look like the diffuser is functional. The overall package isn't very "purpose built". Don't fool yourself in believing the ugliness is because racecar.

AW looks better. Make the wheels and the lip all black and it's getting there. Maybe if the spoilers were painted the same color as the car they'd look more integrated? Seeing those images of the E92 GTS again, ahhhh so dope. Clean and simple.

Agree - this does look much better in white. Makes the car actually look good. But I'm having a hard time identifying why I would buy the GTS instead of getting my own water injection cooler, buying the cf hood and other aero from IND, choosing any aftermarket wing and wheels I want - all presumably for MUCH less than the difference in price between a GTS and an M4.

The problem here is the modifications to the engine aren't significant enough. Obviously I have to reserve judgement for the final product (who knows how much weight reduction they manage to eek out) but so far in not seeing the cost benefit calculus (even taking into consideration the value from the rarity of the car).
