+1. The ARMA intake looks really awesome and I'm sure the sound is rewarding. On the power dyno, I know no intakes have proven gains. But have they tested if aftermarket intake get you to peak power sooner? (Max power doesn't change, but the turbos should spool up slightly faster = faster boost).

If you mean less turbo lag, then yes; at least theoretically. If the pressure just upstream of the turbo is higher, then the turbo will be able to spool up faster. However, in reality, the difference would be so minimal that it could not be felt from the driver's seat.

Really? You have brainwashed yourself then, buddy, because all of those items you listed can give at least one, if not more, of your supposed benefits.

Nice looking piece and just like a mpe or other exhaust its for looks and sound and now we are getting more and more accustomed to spending thousands on such in performance vehicles.

i wouldnt even consider perf gain even a "little". Bet you anything if you do before n after dyno run, there wont be any delta.. Maybe 5hp? id actually put my money on 1-2 hp lol.. You probably gain more power by driving in colder day

Curious: in your review of the intake, did you have Active Sound coded out or left on?
I'm just wondering how neutered the car actually sounds with Active Sound deleted, especially with/without an intake. |

The stock intake pipes have a pattern that looks like it's purposely designed to influence intake sound. Any intake "upgrade" is to upgrade bling, sound, and forum signatures.
I'm ok paying a modest amount to increase turbo noise. But over $2K plus is nuts. Once a tuner realizes they can make more money selling a bunch under $1K, vs selling a few over $2K then maybe we'll get some other choices. |

I really wish they provided sizable performance gains, but I am skeptical about the benefits of intakes vs just going with a filter for a 1/6 the price.
Can somebody show solid evidence of value beyond the aesthetics? |

I don't have the right equipment to capture the sound at this point, and if I do, do a intake system sound video you will hear way too much exhaust LOL. Quote:
