+1. The ARMA intake looks really awesome and I'm sure the sound is rewarding. On the power dyno, I know no intakes have proven gains. But have they tested if aftermarket intake get you to peak power sooner? (Max power doesn't change, but the turbos should spool up slightly faster = faster boost).

For my point, you spent your money and get a better looking and better performance and better sound. This is something that spoiler, exhaust, DP, JB4 cannot give.

What do you mean by "peak power sooner"?

If you mean less turbo lag, then yes; at least theoretically. If the pressure just upstream of the turbo is higher, then the turbo will be able to spool up faster. However, in reality, the difference would be so minimal that it could not be felt from the driver's seat.

Really? You have brainwashed yourself then, buddy, because all of those items you listed can give at least one, if not more, of your supposed benefits.

My understanding:
spoiler: performance and looking
DP: performance and sound
exhaust: performance and sound, maybe a little looking
JB4: performance and sound(maybe?)
intake: performance(a little), sound, and looking

does my thinking right??

And the 'looking' is only when you pop the hood. How often is that?

Nice looking piece and just like a mpe or other exhaust its for looks and sound and now we are getting more and more accustomed to spending thousands on such in performance vehicles.

Thanks for the in depth review - definitely has the bling factor going on when you pop the hood!

Curious: in your review of the intake, did you have Active Sound coded out or left on?

I'm just wondering how neutered the car actually sounds with Active Sound deleted, especially with/without an intake.

The stock intake pipes have a pattern that looks like it's purposely designed to influence intake sound. Any intake "upgrade" is to upgrade bling, sound, and forum signatures.

I'm ok paying a modest amount to increase turbo noise. But over $2K plus is nuts. Once a tuner realizes they can make more money selling a bunch under $1K, vs selling a few over $2K then maybe we'll get some other choices.

I just recently installed, and I prefer the sound of the car with ASD off. You realize how quiet the engine itself though, all the sound really comes from the exhaust. The intake helps but only in terms of spool and recirculation sound (which I love personally).

Will be trying to post one soon if someone doesn't beat us to it.

Yup! Though I think the stock intake is really quiet. Either way, gotta love capitalism!

I really wish they provided sizable performance gains, but I am skeptical about the benefits of intakes vs just going with a filter for a 1/6 the price.

Can somebody show solid evidence of value beyond the aesthetics?

I don't have the right equipment to capture the sound at this point, and if I do, do a intake system sound video you will hear way too much exhaust LOL.

I hope you are enjoying the Arma speed intake system as much as I am! It makes a cool woosh sound kinda like a BOV when letting off the throttle during boost LOL

That's power at the fly wheel not at the wheels and that seems super inflated still
