What about Shifteck? at 700 bucks, it seems like a solid choice. Any user experience?

I have seen AutoTalents before and after Dyno with ER downpipes. The gains were extremely minimal, even for a dynapack.

I will bet anything Akra DPs post better gains than ER. Wanna take me up on that?
don't think he's talking about "quality" per se ... he said most popular (to me meaning most sold)

Zima would be on top of my list if I'm brave enough to do DPs. Flex section and ceramic.
Correct me if I'm wrong but they are yet to throw a CEL as well

Eisenmann's downpipe is designed and built in Germany using the same engineers that build original equipment for Porsche and AMG. During stress testing at the Nurburgring Nordshleife the engineers found that movement of the exhaust system would distrupt the seal of a ridigly mounted downpipe, and can contribute to additional wear over time. The flex section is not a must-have in mild driving conditions, but Eisenmann's downpipe must be designed to function correctly in all driving conditions, for all drivers.

2000 degree Ceramic coating (optional)

Thanks for all the feed back guys.

again after hearing the Eisenmann i didn't love it idk why just seemed to high pitched and full throttle (this car had full exhaust and downpipes) also i am not an expert so idk if downpipes alone make different exhaust sounds depending on the brand i have asked this a few times haven't really gotten an answer.

On a stock exhaust will different downpipes make different sound?

Im currently leaning towards ER or akrapovic

Can't go wrong with Akra or Eisenmann, quality is just second to none and fitment should be perfect, don't want any fitment, rattle issues on a $70K plus car.

Just had ER downpipes installed. The shop had no issues installing them. Quality looking construction.

Good Luck.

All catless downpipes will sound the same. Only difference in downpipes is how they are built/fitments.

Recipe to spread false rumors on a forum...pick a brand that's not the most expensive on the market, say you heard from your buddy that there are fitment issues. All of a sudden, others will respond "I chose ____ over ____ because I didn't want downpipes which will rattle and go rusty on me after 2K miles."

Downpipes which underwent "stress testing at the Nurburgring Nordshleife." LOL, really? Just statements which are hard to disprove but will be taken at face value because of the brand. However, yes...Eisenmann and Akrapovic make among the best exhaust products money can buy.

The fact that whatever shop you mentioned uses a Dynapack should automatically discredit their results by default, but please share what compelling info you have. I'm sure it's conclusive.

I'm considering Shifttek.. $700.

Just got their N55 one installed on my buddy's 335 and install was fine.

VRSF is releasing theirs soon too at a $600 price point I think. I had theirs on my 135i N55 and there were no problems there.

$1000+ for a DP is insanity.

Can't wait for VRSF to release theirs. Same story for the 335i's with N54. At first only a few vendors had down pipes and they were close to a grand. VRSF came out with theirs for 350 and everyone that already bought some or stood to profit from expensive pipes screamed bloody murder and claimed 99 reasons why cheap downpipes will ruin your car and give your kids cancer.

I installed my VRSF pipes and had no issue for years. Along with the thousands of others that did the same. Also all the "expensive brand" prices dropped by 200 to 400 dollars to the 600 range. Same will happen here on a similar scale.

Don't get me wrong, the Eisenmann pipes are car porn gorgeous. Tested at the ring, lol. So if I drive my car on the ring only, how many years would it take for the "some additional wear" to show up on a gasket-less mounting flange? Would love to see some data on that. Just say buy this pipe because its beautiful. No need to lie. Though, I couldn't live with spending that kind of money for no gains over any other pipe. You know, because it really is just a pipe.

However, I'm glad there are options across the price points and to each their own.

I'm running Shifteck. Great fit and performance so far. No issues with rattles or leaks the Past 4500 miles. JB4, E85 mix, 100 Octane, Map 2, Map 7 - you name it. It's been great.

Best value for the money

A local shop here called Haute AG. They have a couple sets in stock. The pricing is comparable to all the others on the market, and the welds are the best in the business!
