So, to bring back to life an older thread. I'm going to order these today. The now have the Z17 Power Stops .. I'm assuming these would be better to get then the Z16's?

It says "Need wear sensor wire" sold separately .. is this true, or can we just reuse the existing wire?

Thanks for any insight.

Stand the factory brake dust, I cannot not.

Z16 and Z17 is the same pads. Z17 just comes with the mounting hardware which is not needed on such a new car.

Endless MX72 or alternatively Pagid. I track at Nurburgring and these brands are the only game in town among fellow Ringers. Better initial bite/feel than stock, better stopping power, great longevity

No you do not need to buy a new wire or brake sensor. You reuse the one currently on there. Just be careful with it though.

Yep. Figured that out.

It's a bitch getting it back in the new pads. All worked out though.

After a few days... I have to agree with everyone else.

Power Stops pads much more gooder.

No discernible dust, where the factory ones, I would have already cleaned my wheels. Twice.

Does the ceramic brake pads have increased stopping power than OEM ones?

The Power Stop ceramic pads on my car seems to work just as well as the stock pads. I doubt if anyone has done objective, instrumented tests comparing these pads with OEM pads. However, here's a link on tirerack talking about the differences between ceramic and semi-metallic pads:

http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/tech/....jsp?techid=88

Sounds like it's all positive to me and mine have been working perfectly - better feel than stock (not as abruptly grabby) and zero dust.

How did these hold up over the longterm?

Did you ever use these pads in winter?

They have been 100% fine over the long run. Braking still perfect. I’m in So Cal so no snow. But we did have a few heavy rains and the brakes worked perfectly in the rain. Still generates virtually no brake dust and doesn’t squeal or have any issues.

Initially I was really impressed with these. Degraded terribly though. Pads glazed and the bite and performance was very bad. I kept thinking the brakes needed to bled. Binned them and put standard back on and all was good again.

Low dust, good brake feel.

While on quarantine, I took the opportunity to replace the pads. The stock pads had lots of meat on them but I was tired of cleaning my wheels every 2nd day.

After some research and reviews, I installed Akebono pads front and rear and couldn't be happier.

I put on about 1k and here is my opinion:
They don't have the initial bite the stock pads have, but are smooth and consistent.
They are quieter at low speeds when creeping through the drive through.
The wheels are cleaner 2 weeks after driving, then 2 days with the stock pads.

In conclusion... I feel like I get 90% of the brake feel with 10% of the dust over the stock pads.

I don't track the car, but drive it pretty hard, mostly urban city.
