Looks cheap, I had a rental Chrysler or Ford once that had the same detail and I was disgusted looking at it the entire trip.

+1 Agreed! Might be fake stitching, but definitely an improvement.

Yeah, IMHO it does look really cheap. I really disliked it in our X3 M40i.

Nothing like full Silverstone in my M3ZCP
And even better, full Aragon Brown in my X5M!!

It appears the leather covers the entire door (other than the cup holder area) in the X5M.

Looks great - wish it was the same for the F8X.

Thanks!
No, even the cup holder area on the X5M doors are covered in Merino, as is the center console sides when you opt for full leather.

Yes my 2018 has it. Zcp 6 speed with speed cloth.

I like the fake stitching.

It's all a matter of opinion. When i had my 2018 F80 built I used the money saved on full leather to get M Performance CF parts i.e. front lip spoiler, splitters, mirror covers, and spoiler. For me that was a nice trade off as nobody (including myself) will ever get in my car and think "ugh whats up with this ugly dash". But on the flip side i can assure you when they see all the carbon bits they all love it.

No one would choose this in lieu of full leather. It's just an attempt by BMW to make the normal dash look more upscale, for which I applaud.

Full leather definitely is much better. The standard dash with the new leather is better to have than the plastic one previously.

Full leather is nice can't nobody deny that. The interior is more upscale looking and feeling. Weather you want to spend the extra cash on the option depend on your financial situation. Sensatec dash with some stitching is definitely an upgrade over the standard no full leather.
