I'd love to see a video of others' perspective when driving toward your car. If it's anything like mine was, the right headlight looks wrong to everyone else on the road. |

Alex @ Alpine gave another attempt at coding my 2017 M3 ZCP. After wiping previous coding done on the lighting module, and re-coding in what I wanted (VLD + Anti-Dazzle), everything works perfectly. Sorry, forgot to report back immediately. Really cool option that I wish everyone just had from Day 1.

'18 ZCP with an 8/1/17 production date here, coded mine myself using e-sys and it worked just fine the first time.
I'm not sure how bimmercode works compared to e-sys, but you do need to VO code the car for the VLD and Anti-Dazzle, it's not just a typical FA coding adjustment. The OP mentioned it, but for others, make sure you have the adaptive LEDs as well....

I have an 2018 LCI M4 and was told my 2 separate online coders that it's not possible as:
"the 2018 LCI M3/M4 have FLE, only FLM on G Series is possible” and "Unfortunately the 2018 LCI models use the FLE modules for lighting and the hardware is different between US and ECE. You will not be able to code Anti Dazzle High Beams without changing the headlight modules" Any thoughts on that?

I could take a look at e-sys tonight to see what was done if needed, but just did a quick search and it looks like pmooiweer put some ridiculously detailed instructions together elsewhere detailing the process and this seems similar to what I did. I might have had to use the search in e-sys to ultimately find what I was looking for since they moved stuff around, but this mentioned FLE as well. Is this what you tried already?

Hi,
Bumping an old thread. I have a 18 ZCP with the Adaptive LEDs. Production is 8/2018. I haven't tried coding this feature on but wanted to know if anyone has been able to code this on a late 2018 build. Also, has anyone been able to do this via Bimmercode? I have E-sys that I used to code my 2016 340 with but it seems like using it on my 2018 requires paying for it. I rather get something easier to use like Bimmercode so curious if I can make the same changes using Bimmercode. Thanks! |

You can't do this with Bimmercode. I was able to code adaptive functions onto my 2017 with the v1 ikons using Protool, though. It was pretty simple. I would assume you could do the same with the v2 ikons but I'm not positive.

I have been trying to get Antidazzle and VLD working for a couple of weeks now. I have an 18 F80 with all options. Headlights do seem to have 3 diodes in each, so as far as I have been able to research, it may be possible, but difficult.
Bought Bimmerutility, and did the VO coding with Esys, then tried to change the needed FDL values on BU. I am having an issue where I cannot tell if the cheats on BU are correct or working. After completion, my headlights were on in all switch positions, and the high beam switch put me in low beams lol. Restored a backup on Esys and have been trying to figure this out. Any suggestions on which values need to be changed in BU expert mode? I am at a loss on this now that the cheat sheets don't seem to work in Esys for FDL coding. Is it possible I only need to VO code it in? I have not tried only altering the VO, but I plan on trying that this weekend or next. |
