Either that or he is hoping to integrate his M3/4 review into NBC and get paid for his work instead of give it away for token online ads.
Personally I kind of feel betrayed by him a little bit. He knows how much M drivers follow him, respect him and his reviews, I can't help but feel he has let us down. Let us down by even by prioritizing eating and sleeping ahead of the need to put out a review on this car. |

There are 9 more episodes they will be airing of Drive on NBC sports starting in July. Chances are very high that one of those episodes will be the review we've all been waiting for

I tweeted the Drive folks yesterday asking why there's been such a dearth of content since the NBC Sports show aired. Matt Farrah claimed that they're taking a break.
But we know they have reviews in the can, and they were supposed to have posted the /DRIVE on NBC Sports episode to YouTube. They posted it but it was quickly pulled. I too feel somewhat betrayed, though I also feel like an entitled, spoiled brat for feeling that way. The simple fact is that only three non-promo videos have been posted to the channel since the NBC sports announcement video two weeks ago. /Drive previously posted nearly a video per weekday. They let Leo Parente go and now have basically closed the spigot on content. They promised in the Jalopnik AMA that this network deal wouldn't stop the content on YouTube and that the network show would be posted to the YouTube channel. They have so far reneged on both of those promises, but it's only been a few weeks, so maybe they are just taking a break. Only time will tell. |

He reviews cars for a living so that his family eats, not so a bunch of online devotees can get their daily fix from the prophet.
I don't feel the slightest bit 'betrayed' by him or anyone else who is a professional doing what they need to do. I would like to watch his review but, really, with his tweets and the notes we all know what it is going to say. He has been more than good to a bunch of people that don't pay his salary. |

The whole Ferrari outing gave him some sort of "no BS" reputation... Apparently, it gives validation to his opinions, since the belief is that most journalists won't bite the hand that feeds them.

I'm pretty tired of car journalists altogether, apparently liking cars turns the reader into a drooling monkey with no brain, it seems no words are needed, and expressions are pointless. As a disclaimer: weak coffee, I'm bitchy.

Who cares what he says in July. Most have us will be getting out cars around then anyways. Is any body really waiting to see what this guy says before buying this car. Not me my friends decades of reviews mean more this car has gots lots of history.

My mind is made up by me (and sometimes my wife. and other times my kids. But other than that, me) But I do like being entertained with car-porn. Its why Top Gear is so great. Is the consumer advice useful? Not at all. But holy crap is it fun to watch the boys being idiots. Pure entertainment. Anything I learn from that is just extra. ...and Harris makes some entertaining pieces. |

Agree, this is the internet era, Chris should know that better than anyone. If you are this late with the review, who cares. I don't care what Chris says anyway but I do find his reviews mildly entertaining nothing I can't wait for though. Also if the first episode of Drive on TV was any indication of what's to come I can gladly wait forever... It shows how difficult it is to repeat what Top Gear UK is capable of and how good of a concept for etertaining car nuts they have. BBC if you can Jezza for mumbling that silly old rime I'll ban BBC.

I agree abt Top Gear, I loved that show and I had every episode made on my laptop long ago, but an unfortunate accident gave the spouse enough leverage to ban it from me altogether, so now I concentrate taking away all the fun out of his life. Yes, I'm serious.

At the end of the day we all have different things we look for in a car whether it being weight, cup holders, HP, MPGs so reviews don't make a decision for you but it helps reinforce your choice specially when you are spending a nice chunk of $

My biggest issue is, that we all act like we are not the ones paying for the car. We are just sheep's who follow. It's a car, let's be whipped at home, as it's supposed to be done, right @wah and @myzmak

My kids will often watch it with me (many a Saturday afternoon has been lost to back to back to back episodes on BBC Canada). Watching Clarkson take out the Reliant Robin may still be one of my favourite clips of all time.... Harris still doesn't have that profile, but it seems like from the reviews I've read, /Drive is an effort to create something similar. It may work - it really all comes down to chemistry and the ability to drop lines like the TG boys. Don't know if the /Drive folks have that. (still can't watch the first episode, but as @solstice and others have noted, it wasnt supposed to be that great....) |
