"Remote" coding, where an expert does it over the internet, is usually about $50 - $100 + anything special or time intensive. A tuner shop will want $200 - $300 if they don't do a lot of it, otherwise a high volume reputable shop like EAS will do an "all you can eat" for $99, except special coding like DCT. Some places try to break it up as separate fees depending ... So net-net, expect anything from $50 - $300 for a decent shop. I'd say the key is, just ensure they've done it a bunch ... I've seen people get in trouble and the experienced set know how to troubleshoot out, the newbies ... you don't want to brick your car obvs. |

That dude is a perfect mix of Minnie and me. We've agreed on keeping each other posted on where our kids live in the hopes of them never producing us grandkids. We wouldn't want our offspring's offspring to end up in the hands of the military: With our skills the grandchildren probably would end up being used as some type of anti technology weapons.

This video does a good job of laying out the things we should be concerned about re: automation. Brings to life GrussGott’s charts. Good channel overall also if you are a science geek like me.

Just lets keep them on separate continents. I'm pretty sure that's me before coffee too. Some sleeper gene could be activated and they could trace the start of the end of the human race to our grandkids. That wouldn't be nice.
I NEED SOME FUCKING SLEEP! J has a doctor coming up and I keep waking up every 20 minutes with nightmares. It's five am. I've slept the total of 6 hours in five days and we are still 20 days out from his appointment. I can't even spot if I forget to write the full sentence or do I skip to the next thought in the middle of a sentence. Sorry Minnie, I meant to blame our grandkids with the sleeper gene for starting the destruction of the human race. I can't even drink coffee because that naturally makes everything worse in the long run. I'm so glad I have my special method in dealing with traumatic things. This combination of needing little sleep normally and all these fun nightmares that always raise their head for his appointments is just so much fun! Fun!

Kidscollege$ Alex @ Alpine I think does it for $100 for as many coding you want. Last time I had Tom from eAs do it for my M4, it was $75?

I just had the best three hour nap of my life!
I paid Robin, the youngest to read me a book. 150 pages later I feel like a new person! I'm going to pay J now to read to a tape his new favorite book about engineering and that might keep me sleeping at nights too! I am so pathetic with j's doctors this is not even funny. I may have some unresolved issues with his baby year and doctors telling me all that was wrong with him.

Do/can they do it remotely? That sounds good to me, just don't think I am in their neighborhood. I will check them out though!

Alex @ Alpine from California definitely can. Although I'm unsure how he does it, my friend did it through remote. I am way more of a in person thing so, that and I don't have a laptop which I think is required.

K I'm so done.
I'm arguing against a pedo about boys also having rights and I'm clearly not good enough to understand English enough to..? I have four hours of electrical motors on tape so let's see if ear buds and my kid reading to me works at night too!

I am so tired of reading the constant BS and whining on the forums.
Everyone always give Dinan some free pass because "warranty". Give me a freaken break. Yes, Dinan or piggy backs generally don't have issues for S55 if you aren't pushing the limit but so what? Aftermarket is aftermarket. There is no such thing as "warranty" when you put an aftermarket mod on your engine. If they believe Dinan's warranty is worth a damn for BMW's real warranty they are way out of their mind. P.S Thank you GrussGott I honestly no longer have any sort of patience on the forums. I do not understand why people who tune, think BMW owes them anything. It's this type of idiotic thinking that is causing so many problem.

I don't get where the "Dinan" warranty crap comes from. If you look anywhere into this, you will see it is nothing but marketing. It's like people love to lose their original OEM warranty for Dinan "warranty" that doesn't guarantee anything.
A car is not able to be CPOed with Dinan stuff installed. So, what makes them believe having Dinan "warranty" means anything is beyond me. BMW doesn't owe you anything once you put an aftermarket on, especially on your engine.

A 4er will never be a M4 just because the M4 is built differently from the ground up. Chassis is utterly different, how many BMW salesmen can tell you this unless they really know their BMWs? You don't change springs and shove a piggyback and magically it becomes a M. That's like putting a piggyback on a C43 and say it's a real AMG, which it isn't. If you don't have a hand built AMG engine, it isn't a real AMG. It's frustrating to see people on the forums asking simple questions they can easily find out by Googling.
