Got my 2016 mineral white/ sakhir interior 6 speed with every option except sun shades and CCB for 52k in feb 2020. CPO 21k miles, no accidents and prime condition for reference.
Yeah I figure it's still a bit pricey. I did bring it down from a lil over $53k to just a lil bit over $50k, otd price went from $58700 to $55500. Not sure if I should pull the trigger.
Damn, original price was even worse. I think I ended up OTD around 56.5ish. Cars with this many miles were like 45ish and under back then. Personally, I'd pass. I like getting cars at lower mileage, so leaves less room for previous owner to neglect the service etc. At 55k miles, depends on how long you wanna keep it and see if it had maintenance records plus any accidents. Are you okay to have this car possibly worth like high 30s-40k in 2-3 years when market corrects and car ages? Just some things to think about before pulling the trigger. Ideally if you can wait for a better price/ spec I'd recommend that

Hmm I'd honestly be willing to wait. The only thing that's pushing me to consider purchasing at an inflated price is because my current car('21 330i) will depreciate much quicker, so I'm trying to factor that in as well along with how much I drive(about 20k miles per year).

Thanks a lot for the input man, really helping me have a proper judgement on whether it's worth it or not.

Ohh I see, yeah I feel it lol gotta factor everything in. No problem. Since you're driving 20k a year, I'd say get a beater reliable daily and get the M for weekend and a few weekday drives. Not like it won't be reliable, but it'll lose value quick and will have to replace some wear and tear items and seals etc. I got mine as a weekend thing, but so far I'm averaging 10k/yr lmao still drive it a lot. I go back and forth between I got it to drive it and I don't wanna put too many miles on it too quick 😂 but luckily it's not my only car, so I drive my other cars for work and stuff. Also go back and forth on how long I plan on keeping it and what makes the most sense.

If it has 20" wheels, is it an m3 competition? If so and you could talk them down to just under $50k, I think it's fair today. M3's usually go for a bit more than m4's I think. Especially if it's the comp model. Does it have MPE? If so I think even $50 is fair. Even with 55k miles. If it is not comp with mpe, it should be more like low 40's honestly. For reference my 16 m4 non comp, with mpe and 30k miles was $46.9 last April.

I figured out it didn't have comp package and the 666 wheels were just added by the previous owner and not CarPlay compatible(essential for my daily and don't wanna have to retrofit) so I'm gonna walk away from it lol. There will be better deal somewhere someday

Guess you made the right call then lol. I believe car play is on 2017+ also quick easy way to tell if comp package when you see the wheels is to look at the front seats, if they have holes on the side, it's most likely legit. They also have black exhaust tips, but that's easy to swap like wheels. Just wait and I guarantee the right deal/ spec will pop up. Think I was looking for like 6 months and this was before covid 😂

That's a great price for that spec and year/ mileage for sure. I should've waited and gotten an 18 zcp too. Couldn't find the right spec with a 6 speed when I was looking

Hmm found a new deal, gonna ask for advice again lol.

2017 M3 DCT

38k miles
Silverstone
Carbon ceramic brakes
Comp package
Executive package
Moonroof
Basically has all the goodies except for the CF roof(I prefer the moonroof anyway)

$54,000 but I'll prob try to negotiate especially with my trade in. How low do y'all think I could go?

I'd say they hold the value better than the regular 3 series. Still not gonna be as good resale value as let's say an ISF/ GSF. Can't use todays covid pricing as an Indicator on how well they hold their value. Everything is overvalued rn

That's not a bad deal if you can get it to like 52 in todays market. Only thing is that it has CCB and those are gonna be a btch to replace once it's time lol. Not sure how people feel about those on higher mileage cars when it's closer to replace, speaking for when you sell the car.

Sweet, I'll see what I can do, I should be able to shave it down a bit. I didn't take that into consideration about the ccb lol but I'll deal with it when the time comes. I'll send an update on this thread if I do end up purchasing it. Thanks man!

I bought a 2018 Comp with 12k miles in Grigio Telesto. no CCB, no full leather, otherwise all other options. Carbon lip and winglets and rear diffuser. Otherwise Stock. CPO'd.

$69k. Which is more than I wanted but I don't see anything coming down soon and I wanted the color and low miles. Warranty made me feel better too even though I doubt (knock on wood) I'll need to use it.

Can't seem to find a M3 with specs I want. The CS checks all my boxes and runs about $77K CPO w/ 20k miles in my area. Am I better off saving $10k and getting a 2018 competition and buying the 763 wheels myself?

The wheels alone are not what makes the CS special.

Up to you. Believe there's diff suspension/ engine tuning and some interior things diff on the CS plus it's obviously limited production. Personally, the only CS I'd probably buy is the M2. If that's not important to you, then save 10k+ with a ZCP.
