Because of my procrastination, I'm under the gun to make a decision, and right now my choices are limited, also I have an M340i that's a week way from being delivered, and I'm trying to avoid making costly ($$) mistake. Really, thanks for the help, just looking for guidance on how to get the best deal, I somehow wound up at a Porsche dealership today, and needless to say that's added more to the mix!!! But in a good way!! Quote:

I know someone who put money down on their lease, car was stolen, and they got money back after their insurance paid off BMWFS. If there is equity in the car, you get it. So putting money down on a lease does not mean you lose that money if something happens. |

Great point Frozen! For everyone's benefit, the critical thing is that "If there is equity in the car..." Every situation/car is different and not all cars have "equity" at the time of loss.

The likelihood of a $100k+ car doing better than a 61% residual in the real world is SLIM to NONE unless it's a Ferrari or similar collectable car. The risk of losing a large downpayment far outweights the chance that the lessor will get the down payment back should the car be totaled very early in the lease. And remember, they are only getting back what they would have already had in the case that they didn't pay a down payment. For reference: $9k down: http://www.leasehackr.com/calculator...es=10000&msd=0 $0 down: http://www.leasehackr.com/calculator...es=10000&msd=0 Total lease cost is $34,863 with $9k down. Monthly is $883 Total lease cost is $35,403 with nothing down. Monthly is $1321 The lessor would save $540 for a 24 month lease risking a loss of $9k. Instead, 7 MSDs should be used to bring total lease cost down to $34,040 ($823 savings) without risk of losing $9k: http://www.leasehackr.com/calculator...es=10000&msd=7 In conclusion: it's still a bad idea to put a large downpayment on a lease.

Hey guys, I've been reading through all these pages of deals and don't really see too much discussion for the M4 CS (at least not in April). Any thoughts on what I should be aiming for in terms of discount before rebates/incentives if the MSRP is 102-106k? I've gotten a couple deals with 7%-11% off, but I haven't had any luck comparing my numbers to other recent deals (or maybe I'm just terrible at looking for it). Here's one of the deal's I've gotten:
MSRP: 104,095 Discount: 6535 (6.28% off) Rebates: 11250 (corp. fleet) Tax: 5549 doc: 150 acq fee: 925 License fee: 118.25 Cap fees: 203 MF: .00142 (MSDs) (.00177 – MSD) MSD: 8400 Residual: .57 (36 month, 10k miles) Monthly payment: 1155 Another dealer didn't provide the line item's (asked for it and waiting on a reply) but with $0 down and MSD's + corp fleet rebate they're offering a monthly of $1112. |

Adjustor called me yesterday and said it looks like a total loss. He did a minor evaluation and estimated damages are 40k+ already.

Just called to confirm with the 2nd dealership, they stated that the 2019 M4 CS has a corp. fleet rebate of 11,250.

It is very sad that it can’t be stacked because I would be absolutely crushing a deal! I already have a pending decent deal worked out with traditional current incentives, and the total deal came within $100 of each other. So no help for me this round, but hopefully good news for plenty of others looking! |

You won’t be getting anything off the car unless you have a non CS color matched hood ready to go before they haul the car away. The insurance company will want to get top dollar for the car at salvage auction so they won’t allow you to strip parts off of it that will decrease the value when they sell it off. Car is probably worth $40k or so as at auction.
