I am a big fan of Silverstone II. As others have said, it changes color depending on the lighting. I have had a few people tell me what a great blue color my car is.
It is also one of the most restrained colors in the available color palette that BMW offers on these cars. Looks dignified for a professional environment, yet is still a ///M only color. I think it also shows off the lines of the car better than any of the other available options. |

I have SS on order but BSM is awesome! It looks so bad ass but 1) I've had 3 black cars already, never a silver car and 2) I've grown fond of the easiness of MW paint upkeep SS should be similar in this regard.

Silverstone II.
It was my 2nd choice to the Tanzanian Devil I took home. It is a fantastic colour in person. Not too blue (as some fret about) - but pretty close to a perfect colour. Shows the lines, looks ridiculously angry and aggressive (especially with the black wheels). I regret nothing about my car, but every time I see one I do let out a little as they are lovely.

I think the M3 looks amazing in both but the M4 only looks really good in the SS II. The BSM M4 looks to much like a 4 series with an M sport pack.

I'm still torn between SSII and MG. SSII is leading at the moment.

You should change the title because black is by its very nature the absence of color, and SS/grey is just a shade and a bluish metallic one at best. . .
I'm gonna post my negatives about each color just to continue my fake troll here instead of telling you why you should get either color just to play devils advocate I agree with the sentiment that SS will get lost as another "silver" bmw and I do think it tends to blue a lot in certain lights. That said a lot of the pics posted above look awesome and it looked great in person in semi shade/sun conditions when I saw it. I'm not really a fan of metallic non hued blacks, and I greatly prefer a black with more of a color tone OR even a really nice non metallic flat black. There is a Bentley color that is the darkest green I've ever seen called "Midnight Emerald" that literally made me fall in love with "blackish" colors and I simply haven't been able to go back to ones without a bit of notable real "color." I also really like that other really really dark purply black color that BMW has put out in the past (is that Juarez?), and I haven't yet seen Azurite Black in person but I'm sure it would be right up my alley. Bottom line for me is that black should be flat and not flecked, OR even better it should just be an extremely dark metallic color that shifts between looking true black and incredibly deep metallic sex. My vote: Azurite Black.
