+1. I would like to know this as well. If it's a 2+ hrs job I will request a loaner; otherwise will just wait at the Service Center.

The service should take 2 hours if all items are present. Make sure you call ahead and speak to the SA and confirm that all items for the service are in stock. I have attached my work order for the break in service on my M3.

The oil filter is different than what is used on a standard 3 series.

Hope this helps.

Mine took 45 mins, no wash no vac requested. The 2 hr quote is kinda generous and probably takes into account a coffee break and a 30 min joy ride.

Time quoted is what BMW pays for, the actual can vary by a bit. Plus they want to give you time to hit the Lifestyles shop for that cap & jacket you can't do without!

They scan your key fob for service details and miles in. Make sure you look at miles out. My M3 had one mile added after break in service. If you are like me, waiting two hours won't cut it due to work obligations. They gave me 328GT loaner that had obviously been smoked in. They cut me slack on the gas on the return due to this issue.

45 minutes! Good for you. Mine took two days since they had to overnight oil filter from warehouse. Boy did I have separation anxiety.

Yeah, that is really unacceptable. I assume you called for the appointment ahead of time, so they should have known to have the service kit, along with filters and fluids to complete such a simple task. Crazy!

Massive thanks for this bud. Also thanks to those who say it should be 45 mins. Both are better than I've had during pre visits. Let see what Steve Thomas is made of...
