Mineral Grey is $500, but yes, I agree an extra 4.5K for a color that everyone will think is MG is a waste.

The picture of the E30 is what Macao Blue should look like.... I've seen a Macao Blue E30 M3 and it is a unique color.

Perhaps it has a lot to do with the camera/lens/ lighting/sun/ photographer/photography.. but the application of this color on the M4 is lifeless and dull in comparison. While it may have the same name.. it certainly doesn't look special, unique, or particularly dramatic.

yawn....

On another note...is the bunching of leather in the drivers' seat shoulder common? Looks like someone at the factory was in a hurry, almost like aftermarket leather seats with poor fitment.

Call me crazy, but I really like the color. Looks significantly different from Mineral Grey, imo. It's like saying LSB and YMB look the same. Or LBB and EB.

Hi all!

The car is definitely not Mineral but from these pics I could see why it would give you that impression.

Its subtle, another color that needs to be seen in sunlight - like champagne quartz IMHO. Sunlight is one thing we are sorely lacking up here in Seattle.

There is blue, silver and purple undertones in the paint - its pretty special... but subtle.

All that being said its nothing like the computer images of the clients anniversary M car and is not the same shade as the E30 - although I'm assured it is. I had one. I know it isn't

But, its the only one done for the US so far. Which has to add cool points, which adds at least 10 more horsepower, right?

Thanks for all the feedback!

Basing on the posted pics, there's a huge hint of purple that I notice...

Macao Blau on the E30 was very dark. It was a dark black with a purple hue and if anything could be considered a predecessor to colors like carbon black.

A quick search of Google images will show the way it appears much better than this example. Why it looks so ordinary on this car I have no idea.

Macao Blau is NOT an ordinary color.

It came on some e30 models and most importantly was one of the few colors on the E30 M3 EVO 2 cecotto edition.

Agree with you, what we are seeing is totally different from how it looked on an e30

*Disclaimer*
The car I believe will look hell a lot better under profession lenses, again these photos are taken by iPhone 6s no filter, lightning was just ok
We shall be waiting adamn1 for more professional photos (hopefully weather clear up in Seattle soon!)

Debating on whether one shade of blue is worth $5k versus another is pointless - everyones' color choice is a subjective opinion. I personally really like this color and can imagine it 'changes" in different lights, kind of like the 2004 Mystichrome Cobra Mustangs (which I realize actually were color-changing).

Side note - how many M3/M4 variants does BMW Seattle have sitting there?! Goodness there are many to pick from!

Some of these individual colors are getting ridiculous. Grey car. Easy one. Sorry about your $5,000.

If you have to take that many up close pictures, and "explain to me" why your car is blue. When clearly it's grey. Well, ... yah.

I think this paint scheme is a combination of 2. Singapore gray and gray Arctic.
