Does it add time to the length of production, so the delivery is delayed?

I'm not sure, my friend bought the car second hand so he didn't actually order it. I know the prices from his window sticker ($5,000 for paint, $4,100 for orange stitching inside, etc.)

HOLY CRAP!!! That's ridiculous!! Second hand purchase is the way to go with that car because I can't imagine that being equitable during resale

The current paint and interior palette is very shallow and marginal for the launch year. "Brown" should not be an individual color. There is nothing unique and special about it. It was a standard color with the e36M3 and you could order cinnamon with the e46M3 at no extra charge. Exterior colors are lacking as well. On the outside, there are no medium to dark blue offerings which is unacceptable. I'm not a fan of Cornflower Blue aka YMB. It’s pathetic that you can build a 335/435 with Estoril Blue but not the M. Estoril Blue was originally and exclusive color to real M cars and not M Sport line cars. I’m sure that the palette will expand and change with MY2016 or MY2017. Yet another reason not to buy the 1st year car.

I like that they're going upmarket on the interior on the new M3/4 it should be more separated from a regular 3 series with that additional leather. That was a gripe of mine when I went from a 335i to an M3 other then the seats themselves it was a 3 series interior and that bothered me since it cost alot more to get. Now if they can just add an alcantara roof liner and B&O sound system it would be great.

I LOVE that interior. Strongly considering paying the extra $2k, if that's the only way to get it.

Great that you have a sense of humor about it. I really felt for you back then. Must have been pretty surreal when it was unfolding. Worst ED nightmare ever.

Some colors cost 5k some cost more and some cost less. There is not a 1 set price for indiv paint. Thats why its always best when you go indiv to go with David Aviles bc price is just a small percentage of the indiv process. You have to get approved first
