Totally agree. I had an e90 330i in sparkling graphite and it definitely had a bluish/purplish hue. I bet this looks a lot different in full sunlight. I like it but should be a standard color.

I was just looking for the color code and name for the blue that my wife's 1989 m6 came in. I think it was Macao blue. In the sunlight it's a dark blue but looked purple at different angles. Definitely a cool color and needs to be seen in person in natural light.

The launch photos really made it look incredible. Too bad in real pics it looks like a duller/grayer purple silk metallic

I was under the impression BMW wouldn't allow individual orders for this color and this was only available for the Jahre M3!
