I have to admit, whatever forum members left posting in the G80 forum really hate the advertising campaign for the M performance parts as well. The juxtaposition with the F10 M5 add and E92 M3 M Performance parts ad just makes you feel sad for BMW's current state of...psychosis?

I am in no way a Subaru fan, in fact, I hate almost all their products, but even they know how to introduce a sports coupe properly.

And, in contrast, here's one of the first 'driving reviews' of the G82 by "Super Car Blondie"
I think this speaks for itself: https://www.facebook.com/33804447653...86995974/?vh=e I am definitely influenced. |

You know I used to want a wrx sti, because if the performance, but hated the body and couldn’t even consider that M cars because of affordability. That thing was a pocket rocket in its day. Subaru never updated it but than went on to make under-powered, but driver focused cars. Cars are actually looking much better than the old wrx. BMW on the other hand is making ugly boats and their ads seem to be targeting street punks that would be the ones missing subarus, Toyota’s and Honda’s - not by making a car that they’d even actually like but making ads that make you think about that demographic.

"What’s funny is that BMW seems to have misinterpreted the reason for the backlash. People weren’t mad that BMW called them “Boomers”. People were mad that BMW had the cojones to actually tell its paying customers that their opinions on its new design were wrong. Also, literally no one is criticizing BMW for building an electric car. There’s no apprehension to join BMW on an electric journey. BMW is getting criticism for completely abandoning its core styling principles, principles the brand has followed for a century."

Note that this thread was moved from the main forum and the other one about “F8x values with release of new M3/M4” was also moved into the “vs” forum. As I said, vote with your wallet, its a simple elegant way to send the message across. |

Just spent the day with this Z8 being reminded of all the beautiful and great driver’s cars BMW use to make. Hard to believe the same company that makes the 4-series produced this gorgeous roadster.

Btw, look at the iX at a certain front sideish angle, the iX is literally the i3. Just blown up in size. Then the dummy of a designer slapped on his ugly ass beaver front end to make it uglier.

Makes me think BMW is making the same mistake they made with the i3 plus ignoring lessons from other EV competitors, Tesla being the most obvious. |

I prophesized that BMW was at a crossroads suffused with ideas for new markets in Asia and in the US and that as long as they remembered their motorsport and enthusiast roots, we'd be fine, and they'd be fine. I said almost exactly this in my after sales survey when I got my M340i. Don't forget about the enthusiasts, their loyalty will sustain the brand during the most trying times. Sacrificing loyal customers to get a massive volume of transient purchases from a market which will always be seeking the next big thing is unsustainable. The forthcoming M2 is the literal last hope of the damned. Beyond that, I will be diving into the past with my next BMW. |
