Well guys... another one bites the dust. I resisted for so long, but this car market got to me, and I am gutted to report that I have indeed let go of the F82. It has been a fantastic car for the time that I had it, and I have many cherished memories with it: driving it, tracking it, working on it, heck even just looking at it. It's bittersweet because I love this community so much that it saddens me to have to break this news to you guys. I always through the F82 would be a forever car but every car has a price... Anyway, I've posted some pics and memories of my time with the F82, and whoever is lucky enough to end up with it will be in for a great time.
And with that I will close out this post... the F82 will be sorely missed. But ultimately I needed something a little more practical that is just better damped for these PNW roads and has 4 doors. To everyone on this thread, I'll just give you a reminder that y'all are so great and it's been real: stein_325i CT_M3 swagon Tecnniqe Sedan_Clan minn19 Arcades GrussGott NickyC MFNATIK CanAutM3 Humdizzle M3WC F8SEVEN dms-01 Thescout13 fiveohwblow icegrill No Boost and quite a few others that I am not quite remembering off the top of my head, as well as those who are no longer with us on BP. Now I sit here without the F82... I feel a hole in my soul and I only hope that its replacement (pic below) will fill it. Surprise... I ain't going anywhere Now let's get this thread to 1000 pages

Lol yes. These are best kind of new (to you or whatever) car posts we need in here. Staying within the brand and same generation. Right on getting the M3CS and not the 4. Much more special IMHO. Did you at least get a good trade on your car? I thought about doing the same and jumping into a CS but not sure I'd be happy with a DCT.

agreed, San Marino is the best BMW blue, unless it's an E46, then it's Laguna Seca Blue

Thanks all
haha surprisingly the CS suspension is much better sorted on rougher roads than my base suspension ever was. Not as nervous and soaks up the roads very well for a 19/20 setup. Going 18s all around tho in a couple weeks. I did have a few moments where I thought long and hard about an off roader (still in the plans) but a leopard doesn't change its spots, and given F8X was a keeper for me I figured I should get one that hits all the spots for me (SMB, F80, Beautiful Interior, not listed much higher than other ZCPs in the area <- still scratching my head on this one, F80 ZCPs are on one) Quote:
CS DCT is awesome, though I think it would be a fun car to have in manual as well. I've come to appreciate manual F8X more since I now live in a lower speed environment than the Bay; definitely can't argue with a clutch pedal keeping things more interesting when you can't go "fast" all the time Quote:
Thanks! E90 isn't out the window, just benched for a while. Quote:
Should be available for your next registration! It's hanging on my wall now as a decoration BMW blues are pretty incredible tbh. I never fell in love with SMB until I saw it on F8X. The hard bodylines and angularity of the car really shows all the hues of SMB all at once

Love a fresh wax
Purely my opinion as a F8X nerd: if there was only one F8X to keep, it would probably be the F80 CS, especially with the way BMW is now pushing the marketing of their vehicles with the Base / Comp / CS / CSL model structure. Darkhorse would be the F82 GTS. All F8X are great, so it's a good problem to have especially since I have the view that F8X will be much more appreciated by enthusiasts as they become more attainable. In contrast, I don't foresee X3M/X4M keeping quite the same level of desirability over time

Sorry I had to put some sexist dbag in his place on another thread. The M3 CS is about as good as you can get really. Personally, I think the CS is the best value when it comes to which BMW you can get currently. Oddly, after driving the Porsche cars, especially the 718, 981 or 911. It has been hard to get back. I think I just prefer the way Porsche and its engine deliver its power, totally over the completely unnecessary amount of torque that early. Wish there was a bit more buildup in the S55 or S58 instead of the, lets give you 4000+ lbs of Torque before 3k (or whatever the RPM is for the S58).
