That's the price we pay for going individual. I would have had mine by now if I had chosen a 'regular' color. Instead it has been at the port for nearly two weeks waiting on a boat. It's pure agony.

There's nothing individual about mine... Actually there are individual builds that have moved ahead of mine. Yet nobody, I mean nobody, can tell me what the hell is going on.

Here's my thing, i understand "building" a car from scratch is not easy. But on the other hand, i'm just not understanding why the logistics aren't better at BMW. I'm sure it's a billion dollar facility, with tons of workers, things should be running like clockwork. Why should it take 4 weeks just to do a special color? I'm not sure. Once it gets approved, mix the shit, and spray it. I understand things go wrong, parts aren't readily available etc but it's just odd to me how some cars start early, some start late, some get pushed back, then move forward.. it just doesn't add up to me. This is the first time I have gotten a new car and it will probably be the last.. i'm just chalking up the wait as part of the whole "experience" i guess. New day tomorrow.. |

I have a production number, but no scheduled production date. Genius has no idea when the car will be built. My dealer requested a week 25 build, but considering its week 25 now and no scheduled production, have no idea when it will be built.

I would keep bugging my CA since i'm sure you guys put a deposit down. I was lucky enough that the dealer I went with didn't require me to put down a deposit and my CA calls me with an update every week.

Toyota got hit hard--The company shut down most of its factories in the country due to parts shortages. I'm just as frustrated as you are... you're not alone man. You put $3k down...I've put $7k down. I can't wait... |

So I spoke with someone at BMWNA this morning and they told me my car entered production early this morning. How long does it take for the website to update, as it's still showing it hasn't?

it can take up to 2-3 days to get update on the site. They are really slow at updating it.

Thank you, and thanks for the info... It's been a long wait...I hope for you guys with M4s waiting, that you hit production soon as well, and M3s as well..It just seems the M4s are moving much slower.

Congrats! My car's status was reflected as production started the next day. But I do feel the production flow is slowing down - the 10-day completion is now stretched out to a 15-day forecast for me. What was your estimated completion date?

Not sure., the website hasn't updated... BMWNA didn't tell me, however my CA emailed me as well and said I'm in production..he delivers the news on everything after I've already found out myself... Will Genius have that info?
