But I want the red versions I see in pictures and magazines, not the copper/brown version I have heard it looks like in person. If this car was called "deep red" or "Muir Red" or some other offshoot of red, would you look at it and say "hell no, that's orange all day"? My worst fear is the car looking brown and copper like the older Eclipses and Dodge Caliber wagons. PLEASE HELP. And great pictures here as reference, cant thank you enough. |

Check out these pics: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1004666 I am biased because I saw SO on an M6 at the dealer and fell in love with it immediately. I have a 2001 Z3 that is Siena Red and had been hoping BMW would bring that color back. SO is the closest thing that I have seen by BMW.

Oh man, if the car looked like that in every picture, it would be a no brainer for me. But it doesnt, and there are a few out there that make it look copper/burnt orange.
Living in Texas I see Burt orange all the time (UT colors) but I went to another school and my wife is an Aggie so that's a non-starter. I appreciate the response, every single one counts. EDIT: You are in Austin! So I guess you see that color all the time too. Is that why you chose SO, because of how close it looks to burnt orange? As a Rice guy, blue/grey does not appeal to me. |

Call around and see if any dealers have the color in stock on F8x. I understand your concern, but it is not (1) color, it is many shades of red/orange. You have to see it, and you will know if you want it or not in a second. Last edited by Sean@PSI; 07-17-2014 at 12:58 PM.. |

I have to say the best picture of SO I have seen is that one you have in your build link. It shows the lighter wheels perfectly with the SO exterior. Thanks for the help, it did sway my decision.

I still don't understand why my SO looks like copper brown with my eyes, but is red/orange when videod and shot with a still camera. What is it with my camera that changes the colour? I've no polariser filter on it, but I do have a skylight, maybe I should try a photo with no filter.
