Can wider tiers be fitted on the 666 in comparison to the 437?

Has anyone fit a 305 or 315 on the 666?

^Unless I am mistaken, nothing has changed about the wheel width, just the design and diameter.

The effect on spring/damper and weight transfer is not that noticeable, but the effect on steering feel and feedback is the one I find the most detrimental. I disliked what 12mm spacers in front did to my E92.
What would be the least detrimental spacer to get? An even 10mm all around, or a slightly staggered set like 5/7.5 or 10/12? I am not a fan of spacers (vibration, etc.), but I do not intend on lowering this car like I did with my E92. Too many steep curbs, I've had enough... but I still rather not look like a lifted Wrangler, and spacers do help in that regard.

There are two different spec 666M, the ones fitted to the CP and the ones fitted to the GTS. The ones fitted to the GTS are wider by 0.5" front and rear.

All wheels (513M, 437M, CP-666M and MP-763M) offered on the non-GTS F8X have the same 9"/10" front/rear widths. So all have pretty much the same limitation regarding max tire widths.

I don't believe spacers on the rear up to 15mm would be much noticeable. However, I can feel the difference in steering feel with just 5mm in front. That being said, not all drivers will necessarily be as sensitive to the difference. Further, changing the front-to-rear track width ratio by installing different spacers front and rear can also alter the overall handling balance of the car by changing to front-to-rear weight transfer ratios while cornering.

By steering you mean sharpness of turn-in?

Any more pics of the rear with 15mm? Want to see how much it pokes out. Otherwise will do 12mm in the rear. Planning for 12mm in front.

You guys lowered (I'm on coilovers) with 12/15 spacers, when you did alignment did you do it to spec or custom camber? I ask because I'm getting an alignment tomorrow and want to get it right without rubbing.

Thanks.

Edit - for an M3

Hi guys
Is anyone aware of these wheels color? Are these the standard Silver 666M wheels that come with the M3 competition package? Or these are the 666M wheels black version?
I'm ordering a new M3 in Mineral grey and it's hard to choose.

Just added MS 15f and 12r.lowered on kw has with no wheel gap front and back.the front at 15 is perfect. A little poke but with the negative camber it's perfect. The 12 in the rear looks a lot bigger than stock and most will be happy with it. But thinking 15 or maybe 18 in the rear would match the 15 in the front better. Always felt the rear should be more aggreive

Just put 15F/12R on today, but I think the 15 all around may look a bit better based on some of the other pics in this thread..in any case, much better than without any spacing.

I've always wondered... there is a reason BMW engineers don't bring the wheels that far out.... why?

We all agree that a car with spacers looks way better..!

rocks and debris beat up the body much more with the tires out especially with how sticky these tires are.
