Seems like tires is a limiting factor along and some mechanical gremlins - on paper NCM should be a good showing though? Very open and high speed track from all the Andy Pilgrim videos I used to watch.

Edit: NVM, just looked at the results - will be an interesting upcoming couple of videos. The M5 running in their group is surprising. Given the gap it feels like something must not have been working right.

But they’re all tire limited, no? And running square 315? The stock .2 GT3 is cruising. I guess I would’ve anticipated this heavily modified M4 to put more of push. The Supras are doing it. Proving Jackie’s work on the platform might yield a top of class chassis for the price.

Oh I mean their own tire selection for the event - they chose 340tw ECS02s (I think 295 square) whereas they mentioned other teams went much more aggressive with 200tw picks. I noticed in their vids that finding grip with the ECS02s is a challenge - tbh I'm not super surprised on that, it is a 700hp RWD weapon.

Agree on the Supra tho, easily the fastest new car for the money. I seent it in person at my local track

The M4 isn’t full weight, first off. Obviously not as light as the .2 but its power and aero are certainly much more substantial.

This isn’t a GT3 vs GTS debate, I’m fully aware of well built M cars abilities. I just thought the GTMore intent was “m4 GT4” performance results in a street car.

Given a stock .2 is running away with it across a wide variety of track circuits. Just saying I’m surprised.

To be perfectly clear, I love my M3 and love the GTS. I’m not a GT Pcar guy, I like their sounds but they don’t do much for me otherwise.

On the bright side, looks like BW is still in 1st place in their segment - so at least mission accomplished from that perspective. Also these guys are the M5CS that's running in the group:

Cool to see one of these get put thru the ringer like this

It is at full weight. Only thing removed is the back seat for the roll bar, and stock seats for OMP HTE head restraint seats. Nothing else. When we took hot laps at VIR, we were @ 4000lbs with driver and passenger.

Karl Troy and his son Sean that own European Road and Racing here in Charleston, SC . Local shop here where I store my race car. Both can wheel a car around like no other. Karl did the One Lap decade or more ago in a Lambo, wrapped in American flag. Was a hoot to see it on the dirt track they had in the line up that year.

Fair, it’s effectively full weight. So ~ 300 lbs over the 911, but > 200 whp, very effective aero, suspension, brakes, kinematics and wide wheels.

Which tires did the Porsche pick? BW went with the Conti's which were really good in the wet, but were not the pick for the dry from the convos I was having with folks during the event.

The overall winning Porsche was on Continentals, but I'm not entirely sure which set they chose. Based on some comments from the BW guys during their videos, it seemed as though they were on the same tire? But I can't find anything to confirm that.

I wouldn't expect a full weight M4 to be super fast in tiny tracks that make up One Lap.
Lots of power is useless in small tracks and can be worse than stock when combined with laggy turbos.

Plenty of suboptimal things in this effort, 295 tires vs 315, only one spare vs two that other teams carry, the choice of 340 treadwear tires which is a gamble, one driver not having GTMore experience, the turbo swap.

The goal was to create a car faster than the M4 GT4 that can easily be driven to/from the track and that has been largely attained with their VIR times. Any owner of this car would strip it and it would be significantly faster than the M4 GT4. I guess that is the point.
GTS1 is more or less converted to GTMore and has already been driven 2k miles on the road, without earplugs or advil.

A bit of conjecture in this SYT. VIR is what 3.2 in full configuration?

Eagle Canyon is 2.7
RD Atlanta is 2.5
Hallet is 1.8
NCM 1.97-3.15

Also, I thought the whole point was you don’t strip the car and it’s still super fast. I think we can acknowledge disappointment without endless excuses.

It’s a work in progress, I get it.

It's stupid fast, let's not let that slip through. I've been tracking at VIR since it reopened and it's the most wicked car I have rode in there. By. Far. Granted that was on 315's but man what a car that you can drive to the track with the AC and stereo playing.

I absolutely believe it. I love the platform!

This was fun to watch, felt like I was on the adventure with them. That requires a ton of stamina to do all that on so little sleep.

Can you imagine breaking a transmission but being up and running with a new one in <12 hours? Haha, that was amazing.

Yeah I'm interested to see how they fare in TA. I like the street mod (and street in GTA) class since those cars still need to maintain a decent amount of street components. Should be pretty good tho at Road America; I saw your recent vid and holy sh*t there are some massive open straights... they're gonna for sure get all the benefits of 700hp.

The straights are nuts, 700hp do a lot there! Hopefully the brakes will survive all that!
