Looking at a set of SM-10's for track work next season. Car is an 18 ZCP F80 (steel brakes) on KW HAS and GC camber plates. I believe I saw earlier in the thread that you recommend a staggered setup to allow for more tire in the rear? Just want to confirm recommended config:
18x10 et25 - 275/35/18 (5mm spacer required for the KW HAS? - Could run 18x9.5 et22 and go no spacer?) 18x11 et44 - 305/35/18 Accurate? |

Thanks for the question. The 18x10" ET25 is typically a great fitment up front, however KW suspensions are known to cause clearance issues. For a customer running KW Variant series or Clubsports, a 5mm is typically sufficient to clear. However, in our experience the KW HAS limits clearance just a bit more than a coilover, and a 5mm spacer may not be enough to adequately clear. For your specific setup, I believe the 18x9.5" ET22 would be the better choice as it provides 9mm additional inner clearance compared to the 18x10" ET25. For the rear, the 18x11" ET44 with 305/35-18 tires is a tried and true fitment and will work great on your car. Let us know if you have any other questions

Order placed for satin black SM-10's in 19x10 and 19x11 Apex definitely made the process easy with their fitment guides and great service. S/O to Matt for taking the time to discuss tires Can't wait to see my AW M4 fitted with these new shoes and 305's

Further, I find the 10” wide wheel to not be quite wide enough to offer proper shoulder support for my 275/35R18 front tires. If I were to redo my setup, I would go with 18X10.5ET27 wheels for the front. IMO a 9.5” wheel would only make this worse.

New 19" SM-10 wheels on our customer Chris's F80 M3 - looks really good on this chassis and provides plenty of brake clearance for the carbon ceramic brakes.

I’m running on 20” competition wheels and upgraded the tires from PSS to PS4S and love them. They have been through 3 track days and still holding well. But I understand it’s not a full track tire and to perform on serious level I need another set of wheels and race rubber. I’ve settled on getting Apex wheels but cannot decide which way to go: 1. Staggered 18” setup EC7 18/11 rear and 18/10 front with 275/305 tires. Very popular setup but does not give much tire choices, basically only 888 and NT01 are the options. 2. Staggered 19” setup SM10 19/11 rear and 19/11 front with 275/305 tires is higher priced in terms of both wheels and tires but gives a lot of tire options to choose from, so if I decide on staggered i’d rather go with 19-th. 3. I actually prefer the design of ARC-8 and love it in bronze, so my third option would be to run 18/10 square setup and 275/35 tires all round. There are lots of tire choices in this size and price is really good for both wheels and especially tires, which is important factor since I will be wasting a lot of rubber. I also can get the wheels I like the most and in bronze color I like the most. The downside is obviously the loss of grip at the rear due to narrower tire. By the way is it possible to run 285/35 square on 18/10 arc8 wheels? Or perhaps semi-staggered 275/35 front and 285/35 rear if the front 285/35 does not clear? Any help and advice is much appreciated as I’m at a loss and cannot decide. |

Looking to get M3 and some SM-10 for summer/track. I currently have a 340ix. Does anybody know if my winter rims from 340ix will work? Have a 19x9 ET35 and 19x8.5 ET 35 with 255/35/19 on.

Regarding your track setup options, if these wheels will be a dedicated set for the track, we definitely recommend 18" since both the wheels and tires will be significantly lighter and less expensive. If your car is on stock suspension or lowering springs, we recommend the 18x10" ET25 front and 18x11" ET44 rear setup with 275/35 front tires and either 295/35 or 305/35-18 rear tires. If you're on coilovers that reduce inner clearance up front such as KW, Bilstein, Öhlins, you can substitute the 18x9.5" ET22 up front with 265/35-18 tires for a spacer-free fitment. This leaves the EC-7, SM-10, or FL-5 as your available options. We do not recommend the 18" ARC-8 for the F8x platform since the caliper to barrel clearance is extremely tight up front, and introduces the possibility of rocks/debris getting stuck between them and causing damage. Hope this helps! Quote:

Got 19x9.5 ET22 and 19x11 et44 SM-10 on the way. Anybody have 285 or 295 on the rear versus the 305? I am curious if the 285/295 in MPS4S would look too stretched on the 11” rim. 265 will be on the front

I have KW Clubsport var3 on my m3 and I want to get sm-10. As I understand, it is better to get 19x9.5 up front? Or 10j would be better with 3-5mm spacer? Thnx in advance.
